A NET qualified academician and a merit scholarship holder, he also has an experience of working as a Guest Faculty for students pursuing post-graduation degree in Chemistry. Dr. Nav Kumar Mahato, faculty of science

Dr. Nav Kumar Mahato has joined Adamas University as Assistant Professor in its Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science. An M. Phil. and a Ph.D. holder in Applied Mathematics from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, Dr. Mahato’s areas of interest encompass Hydrodynamics, Analytical/Numerical Solute Transport Modeling. With more than 07 years of progressive teaching experience of working with reputable Engineering colleges of West Bengal and Odisha, he also had the honor of publishing several significant articles on the subject in various international journals and conferences. With his impeccable teaching style with a blend of technology and present learning needs, he is sure to make a difference to the University.

Dr. Debasis Dangar, faculty of science

Dr. Debasis Dangar has joined Adamas University as Assistant Professor, department of Science (Mathematics) post his two year stint with Nirma University, Ahmedabad and MEFGI, Rajkot as Assistant Professor. After obtaining a Master’s degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics from BHU, Dr. Dangar pursued and earned his Ph.D. from IIT, Patna in 2013 on ‘Optimization’. His academic activities include teaching, conducting research and projects works, workshops and publishing books and journals. With his immaculate style of teaching and conveying knowledge to the students, he will certainly prove to be a great value-add to Adamas University.

Dr. Shreya Bandyopadhyay, faculty of science

Dr. Shreya Bandyopadhyay has joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography in Adamas University in January 2016. She had completed her Ph. D in 2015 From Tripura University. She got “Best Young Geomorphologists “award in the 28th Indian Institute of Geomorphologists Conference and also received “Young Geomorphologists” scholarship twice to attend International conferences in France and Russia in the year 2013 and 2015 respectively. She was acknowledged with “Young Scientist Scholarship as Visiting Scholar” for advanced studies on the application of RS and GIS to the Centre of Earth Science Studies (CESS), Thiruvananthapuram, India under DST-FIST (NER) Programme. She has progressive teaching experience in several reputed colleges and Universities of West Bengal and Tripura and she had also published several scientific papers in various national and international journals.

Dr. Abira Dutta Roy, faculty of science

Dr. Abira Dutta Roy has completed her Doctoral degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi in 2013. She graduated from Banaras Hindu University and completed her post graduation from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. She expertises in the field of hydrological modeling, glacial dynamics, climate change assessment and land use prediction modeling. Her gamut of knowledge is a culmination of her research experiences in different DST funded projects and even at Industries. Her proficiency in application of remote sensing and geospatial technology and runoff modeling had earned her a Research Associate position in DST's mega project "Himalayan Cryosphere: Science and Society" under the umbrella program of Inter University Consortium on Cryosphere and Climate Change. She had been the winner of country wide essay competition on "Sustainable Development and Environment" at R. N. Dubey Memorial Lecture held at Aligarh Muslim University in 2006. She was invited for paper presentation at the first Beijing Youth Forum at Peking University, China in the year 2010. She has teaching experience in a couple of the country's renowned academic institutes. Her innovative and captivating teaching methodology is notable. She is highly qualified in SPSS, ArcGIS, Erdas, ILWIS, Idrisi, MATLAB, R, Envi software packages which are of great importance in applied geography. She has quite a few paper presentation at different national and international conferences/ seminars and frequently cited research publications.

Dr. Palashpriya Das, alumnus of IIT Kharagpur; holds Bachelor of Science (Microbiology) from University of Calcutta. In pursuit of intellectual fulfillment she pursued double Masters -Master of Science (Microbiology) from University of Calcutta and M.Tech. in Biotechnology from Jadavpur University. She was awarded with Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT-KGP) in 2009 in the domain of Applied Microbiology.

Dr. Moumita Dey, faculty of science

Dr. Moumita Dey, alumni of Calcutta University, completed her graduation from Bidhan Nagar Govt. College, Kolkata and received her Master’s degree in Pure Physics from University of Calcutta with specialization in Condensed Matter Physics in 2008. In the same year she joined Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), one of the premier research institutes in India to pursue Ph.D. After successful completion of one year Post-M.ScAssociateship course at SINP, she started her PhD work in 2009 at the Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics Division of SINP and was awarded PhD degree in 2015. Immediately after getting the Ph.D. degree she joined Adamas University as an Assistant Professor of Physics.

Dr. Dey is presently working as the Dept.-In-Charge of Physics Department and Exam Coordinator for the SOS, AU. She is also a member of the Faculty council of the SOS.

Her research interests mainly focus on spin dependent transport in low-dimensional quantum systems. Her research interests span over several topics in theoretical nano-science e.g., Quantum transport in molecular bridge systems, Spin transport in magnetic systems, Multi-terminal conductance formulation, Spin Hall Effect, Quantum Hall effect, Thermoelectric study in molecular wires, NEGF technique: Keldysh formalism, effect of electron-phonon interactions on quantum transport etc. She has published several papers and review articles in reputed international journals and also presented her work in various national and international conferences. She has also done collaborative research work with eminent faculty members from other institute and universities like, Indian Statistical Institute, Visva-Bharati University, Kalyani University etc. apart from SINP.

Dr. Swarup Kumar Neogi, faculty of science

After completing his graduation from Serampore College of the University of Calcutta, Dr. Neogi did his M.Sc in Physics from the University of Calcutta in 2007. In the same year he joined as a Junior Research Fellow in the department of physics of the University of Calcutta for pursuing his Ph.D degree. He has awarded Ph.D degree in 2014. After submission of Ph.D thesis he joined in Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science as a Post-doctoral research fellow (2013-2016) in the department of Material Science. He joined in the department of Physics of Adamas University as an Assistant Professor from June 2016. During his Ph.D work, he did synthesis and characterization of transition metal doped ZnO, commonly known to us “Dilute Magnetic Semiconductors” and in his post-doctoral research he involved in the field of Half Metallic Magnetism. These materials find application in spintronics and related fields. Dr. Neogi has research interest in the interdisciplinary domain of solid state physics and material science. His research work has been published in various peer-reviewed international journals.

Ms. Kasturi Mukherjee, faculty of science

Subjects : Geography

A gold medalist in Environmental Geography from Rabindra Bharati University, Ms Kasturi Mukherjee joined Adamas University as an Assistant Professor in the department of Geography under the faculty of Science in 2015. Ms. Mukherjee has received M.A (Geography) degree with in the year 2010.

Presently pursuing her doctoral research from University of Calcutta in its department of Geography, she also possesses a diploma in Software Engineering and a Post Graduate diploma in Applied Remote Sensing and GIS from NIIT and Jadavpur University respectively. A UGC-NET and RET qualified teacher Ms Mukherjee has also completed a refreshers course in Social Development & Social Policy from IIM Calcutta along with presenting several papers on current environmental topics. With a cumulative teaching experience of 4+ years at various institutes she is committed to create a compelling and a motivating classroom atmosphere which will elicit positive energy.
She was a visiting faculty in Rani Birla Girls’ College and Muralidhar Girls’ College. Ms. Mukherjee acted as an External Examiner for B.A./B.Sc Part III General Practical Examination of University of Calcutta for the year 2013 and 2014.

Her research interest is focused on the analysis micro environmental changes in the world. The Paper presented at the National Seminar on ‘Sustainable Development and Disaster Management’ at Udaya Sankar Hall, Rabindra Bharati University in 2010 by her, was certified as the Best Paper.

Dr. Anu Rai, faculty of science

Dr. Anu Rai is an Assitant Professor of Geography in School of Science of Adamas University. She has Graduated from Shri Shikshayatan College, University Of Calcutta, 2009 and Post Graduated with Gold Medal from Presidency College (Now Presidency University), University of Calcutta in 2011 and has obtained her degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Science in Geography under University of Kalyani in 2016. She has teaching experience in several colleges and universities of West Bengal. She has delivered talks at several National and International Seminars and has many international and national publications. She has also completed training on Management Development Programme on Multivariate Data Analysis from Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT – Kharagpur and a Certificate Course on Geoweb Services and Geoportal Applications from Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Department of Space, Government of India. She is well accustomed with ArcGIS, MapInfo Professionals, TNTMips, Q – GIS, Google Earth Geo Portals, NASA World Wind Geoportals, Bhuvan Geoportals, Openstreet Geoportals, Statistical Software for Social Science (SPSS IBM 20.0), BV4.1, Program for Statistical Analysis (PSPP), Census and Survey Processing System (Cs Pro 6.0.1), Gretl, Develve, Triplot, Simfit, SOFA Statistics software packages. Her research interest includes the study of Geography of Decision Making and Management focussing on the contemporary socio – economic and cultural issues, spatial interactions of contemporary space, space re-construction and resource re-distribution considering the view point of Geographer – A Spatial Scientist.

Dr. Rajib Sengupta , faculty of science

Dr. Rajib Sengupta has nine years of teaching & 16 years of research experience including eight years of post doctorate research experience. He has published 20 International papers and presented scientific papers in 15 international and national Conferences/Seminar/Workshops. He has supervised many post-graduate and doctoral student. He persuaded his postdoctoral research at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (Pittsburgh, PA) and the Karolinska Institute (Stockholm, Sweden). His research is focused on the study of thioredoxin and glutaredoxin mediated redox regulations of Cancer and Parkinson's Diseases.

Dr. Anwesa Sarkar has graduated from Barasat Govt. College and completed her master degree from Rajabazar Science College, University of Calcutta. She has done her research work on physics from Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics and awarded Doctorate degree on May, 2016. Her research interests manly comprises of the nonlinear dyanamics in plasma especially focussing on the spatio-temporal evolution of waves, wave breaking, solitary wave propagation, relativistic and magnetized plasma etc.

Dr. Arpan Manna , faculty of science

 Dr. Arpan Manna had graduated with Hon’s in Chemistry from Scottish Church College, Kolkata. He had completed his Post Graduation in Chemistry with specialisation in Physical Chemistry from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. After qualifying prestigious CSIR-National Eligibility Test, he had moved to CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune for carrying out doctoral research studies in the field of Physico-organic Chemistry and Green Chemistry under the supervision of Dr. Anil Kumar, J C Bose National Fellow and FNA. Part of his doctoral research especially Fluorescence and LASER spectroscopic studies had been carried out in Radiation and Photochemistry Division, BARC, Mumbai under the guidance of Prof. Haridas Pal, Outstanding Scientist and FNASc. Following the submission of PhD thesis, he had worked as a senior project assistant in a DST sponsored project on Green Chemistry Following the award of PhD degree in Chemistry in 2015, he had moved to Republic of Korea to carry out Post-Doctoral Research studies in field of Photochemistry and LASER Spectroscopy under the guidance of Prof. Manho Lim in Pusan National University, Busan.

His research interest focused on the following subjects viz. Physico-organic Chemistry; Solution Chemistry; Water–promoted organic reactions; Ionic Liquids synthesis and application in reactions; Ultrafast –fluorescence spectroscopic studies of fast reactions; Transient absorption studies of bio-physical reactions. He has published 10 research papers in international peer reviewed journals till date.

Dr Arpan Manna has been awarded post-doctoral fellowship of National Research Foundation of Korea to work as a post doctoral research scholar in Pusan National University, Busan, Republic of Korea from May,2015. He has won best poster presentation award at Diamond Jubilee Symposium on Recent Trends in Chemistry event organized by Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur from 21-22 October, 2011. He had also won best poster presentation award at “National Science Day” celebration event organized by National Chemical Laboratory, Pune from 27-28 February 2012. Dr. Manna has qualified National Eligibility Test (JRF-NET) conducted jointly by University Grants Commission and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, India in Chemical Sciences, 2008. He has also qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by Indian Institute of Technology and Indian Institute of Science, 2009.

Mr. Abhijit Dutta , faculty of science

Mr. Abhijit Dutta is an alumni of Jadavpur University. He has completed his Master degree in Physics from Jadavpur University. Mr. Abhijit Dutta received M.Sc. (Physics) degree with   specialization in General Theory of Relativity. He is Pursuing Ph.D. under guidance of Dr. Sunandan Gangopadhyay ( Presently working as Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Science, IISER, Kolkata) in the Department of Physics, West Bengal State University, Barasat, 24 Parganas(N), West Bengal, India.

Mr. Dutta is former Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics of Adamas Institute of Technology (August 2011- August 2016). Apart from teaching and all other administrative jobs there he has served various Examination duties (i.e. WBJEEM, WBUT/ MAKAUT Semester Examination, JBNSTS Senior/Junior Talent Search Test, GATE, JAM ) as Centre-in-Charge/ Officer-in Charge/ Presiding Officer. Mr. Dutta has joined Adamas University in September, 2016 and working as Assistant Professor and Examination Cell Member for School of Science.He has qualified CSIR-UGC NET 2012, GATE 2012, and JEST 2011.

His research interest is focused on Implications of a minimum (Planck) length scale in black hole physics and astrophysics; black hole thermodynamics, rainbow gravity, non commutative gravity, modification of the Friedmann equation, Ads/CFT correspondence or gauge/gravity duality etc. He has published 7 peer-reviewed research papers in several reputed SCI indexed International letter journals.

He has delivered several research articles in various Conferences. He has been selected to attend “SERC Preparatory School in Theoretical High Energy Physics 2013” held in Tezpur University, Assam.

Dr. Moumita Mukherjee, faculty of science

Dr. Moumita Mukherjee is an alumni of Presidency College and Calcutta University; she completed her Master degree in Physics from University of Calcutta. Dr. Mukherjee received M.Sc. (Physics) degree with specialization in Electronics and Communication, M.Tech. Degree in Biomedical Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering and Ph.D. (Tech.) degree in Radio Physics and Electronics (2009), University of Calcutta, India. She obtained Full timeDRDO-“Senior Research Fellowship” and in continuation to that Post Doctoral “Research Associate – I” position under DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India. She was Visiting Scientist, INEX, Newcastle University, UK for two years. She obtained PDF position from Technical University, Darmstadt, Germany. Dr. Mukherjee is technical core committeemember (Biomedical Engineer) and technical ambassador of HUMAI –USA.

Dr. Mukherjee is former Scientist (Reader Grade) of DRDO Centre of Excellence under Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India (2011 - 2015).  Dr. Mukherjee has joined Adamas University in 2015 and working as Associate Dean and Academic coordinator of School of Science. Dr. Mukherjee has guided more than 20 Master’s thesis under Calcutta University , West Bengal University of Health Sciences and West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) and supervising three Ph.D. theses under WBUT and Adamas University. Dr. Mukherjee is Visiting / Adjunct Professor and member of Board of Studies of the Joint Academic program on Biomedical Instrumentation conducted by Calcutta University and the West Bengal University of Health Sciences.

Her research interest is focused on the design and fabrication of Millimetre and Sub-millimetre (Terahertz) wave high power homo-junction/hetero-junction devices based on wide-band-gap semiconductors, photo-irradiation effects on the high power Terahertz solid state oscillators, nano-biosensors, Photonics and Medical Electronics & Instruments. She has published more than 140 peer-reviewed research papers on semiconductor devices, Biomedical Electronics and photonics in several reputed International refereed journals and IEEE/SPIE/ELSEVIER/SPRINGER–Proceedingswith citation globally. She is reviewer of a number of international peer reviewed journals and editorial board member of international journals. She is the author of a number of international book-chapters, and worked as a Volume Editor and author of three ISBN numbered books published from UK and India.  She has delivered a number of invited talk and presented several research articles in IEEE International Conferences and acted in various capacities such as “Technical Session Chair”, “Organizer, “Organizing Secretary” and “Convenor” in IEEE& DST International Conferences in India and abroad.

Dr. Mukherjee has received National Merit Scholarship award from Govt. of India and was enlisted in ‘Marques Who’s Who in Science and Engineering’ and ‘Marques Who’s Who in the World’. She has received “IEEE best paper award” two times in 2009 and 2010, prestigious Best Scientist Award, Bharat Gaurav Award in 2015, Best paper award in Science and Technology Congress, India in 2012. 

Dr. Mukherjee is the Member of IEEE (USA), IEEE-ED society (USA) and life member of Indian Science Congress.
