Dr. Srijani Bhattacharyya De has been appointed as Assistant Professor of History in the department of Liberal Arts, Adamas University. A research scholar on 'Colonial forestry in Assam & post-colonial initiatives' from Centre for Historical Studies, School of Social Sciences, JNU, Dr. De is keenly interested to gain and share historical facts about North-east India, which she feels has not been given its due adequately. An M.Phil. From JNU engaging 'Colonial forestry & its impact in Assam' and a gold medalist from Assam University for her contribution to Modern Indian History, she has bagged several other awards and recognition for her works and achievements. A thorough professional with demonstrated experience of involving concepts into classroom teaching methods, Dr. De has published several of her writings and papers in various journals.

An effective teacher with 9+ years of proven track record of delivering quality instructions to college and university level learning individuals. Dr. Patra earned his Ph.D. in Marketing from Assam University in the year 2012 along with an MBA degree in Human Resource and Marketing from BPUT, Odisha in 2006. Formerly associated with C V Raman College of Engineering, Bhubaneswar. He has now assumed the position of Assistant Professor in the department of Commerce & Management at Adamas University, West Bengal. His areas of expertise include Marketing & Advertising Management, Product & Brand Management, Consumer Behavior, Retail Management, International Marketing and Entrepreneurship Development. He has also written a book ‘Advertising Effectiveness in Indian Context’ and has several journals on varied topics related to Marketing to his credit.

Mr. Kaushik Mishra, who has joined Adamas University as Assistant Professor in its department of Journalism & News Media within Liberal Arts division, is presently carrying out his doctoral research in Electronic media & Mass communication from Pondicherry Central University. He has also earned a degree in Law prior to completing his Post Graduation in Journalism and Mass Communication. With an experience of working with a popular Hindi Daily ‘Sanmarg’, Mr. Mishra’s interest areas encompass Journalism, Media Law, Health Communication, Development Communication & Film studies.

A research scholar and a Presidency College, Kolkata alumni, Ms. Nabamita Sanyal's interest in Bengali literature and Tagore in particular, has led her to author a few books and publish a range of articles, poems and other works of fiction in various renowned magazines. Presently pursuing her doctoral thesis on 'Tagore & Internationalism, Ms. Sanyal joins Adamas University as Assistant Professor in its Liberal Arts (Bengali) department. Previously associated with The Asiatic Society for a research project on 'Tagore & Asia', she has a natural flair for teaching and a remarkable ability to blend present educational needs with the pedagogic resources available.

She has graduated from Loreto College, Kolkata under University of Calcutta. She has earned her M.A. degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from University of Calcutta. She has completed PGDESMS (Post-graduate Diploma in Enterprise Software and Management System) from IISWBM under IISWBM-ECIT. Mrs. Saha has experience in working as full-time faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication in Vivekananda College of Empowerment, Centre for Management Studies for one year four months. She also has experience as news writer in Australia based social media house for five months. With effective teaching style Mrs. Saha will enhance the standard of education in Adamas University.

Dr. Kausheyee Banerjee has joined as a faculty of Adamas University in the position of Assistant Professor of Bengali in the department of Liberal Arts. She has specialization in the field of Dramatics and has interest in the same field. Her Ph.D Thesis is on life and creativity of the famous theatre Personality of Bangladesh, Selim Al Deen, which has earned a lot of appreciation from the academicians of India and Bangladesh. She has rich experience of 7 years in teaching as a faculty of Vivekananda College, Madhyamgram. She has enriched herself in conducting research work while pursuing her doctorate from Visva Bharati . Moreover she has publications in various accredited journals, in various genres of Bengali. AS a faculty member her teaching approach will definitely enrich the students of this University and help them to achieve newer horizons of life.

With teaching aids she imparts effective education. She obtained Best Paper Certificate in reputed journal and also published Book Chapter by Globus Press. She has attended ICSSR workshop and other workshops on Journalism and computer skills in Software Operators Programme.

Dr. Debanjana Dey , faculty of liberal arts

Debanjana Dey teaches Economics at Adamas University, Kolkata. She is a Ph.D. from Department of Economics, University of Calcutta. She researches on ecological sustainability and urban planning, with focus on peri-urban processes in the Global South and trying to reinvent herself as an interdisciplinary scholar, while retaining a bend of mind for economics. She has published with international houses such as Sage and Springer and read papers at influential conferences. She enjoys teaching both quantitative and qualitative aspects of economic life.

Mr. Samyo Basu, faculty of liberal arts

Mr. Samyo Basu, completing his M.Phil dissertation on Marxian political economy from Calcutta University, has recently joined Adamas University in 2016. His interests lie in the class analysis of the third world economies as compared to the non-conflictual teleological approach that modern development economics has towards them. To him, it is not just the economy but a confluence of culture, politics, economy and nature that shapes the trajectory of post-colonial (capitalist) development. Besides these, he teaches advanced microeconomics, macroeconomics and has a knack for literature on development economics and the Indian economy and its history. He graduated in economics from Scottish Church College, Kolkata, West Bengal and has done his post-graduations from the University of Calcutta.

He did his M.Phil from the Department of Economics, Delhi School of Economics ( Delhi University) in 2010. Currently he is pursuing his Phd(Economics) from Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University. His area of interest is in Applied Econometrics, Macroeconomics and Political Economy.

Dr. Nivedita Mandal, faculty of liberal arts

Dr. Nivedita Mandal teaches Economics at Adamas University, Kolkata since June 2015. She focuses on financial economics and has studied capital and derivative markets in an emerging economy like India. In her three years of teaching career, she has taught both management and economics students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She believes in class room innovation and pedagogical experimentation, while attempting to extend the reach of economics.  She has graduated in Economics from Lady Brabourne College, University of Calcutta, post graduated in Applied Economics from Department of Economics, University of Calcutta, and completed M.Phil. in Finance from IFHE, Hyderabad and Ph.D. in  Financial Economics from Mizoram University in 2015.

Ms. Rimi Nandy completed Masters in English Literature from Jadavpur University. She also has a PG Diploma in Digital Humanities and Cultural Informatics from Jadavpur University. She has been a UGC Project Fellow at School of Media and Communications, Jadavpur University. Ms. Nandy has also been a part of the Project “Mapping Digital Humanities in India”, conducted by Centre for the Study of Culture and Society. She has a teaching experience of over 5 years and has taught in Lorteo College, Kolkata and CMR University, Bangalore.

Dr. Biswanath Banerjee, faculty of liberal arts

Dr. Biswanath Banerjee has completed his doctoral studies from Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan. After completing his masters, he had been engaged with a number of research projects in Visva-Bharati, namely— “The Chronological English Writings of Rabindranath Tagore”, “Rabindranath Tagore and Science, etc.” He had been nominated as a fellow of the UGC-UKIERI Project on “Scottish Orientalism and the Indian Renaissance, the Continuum of Ideas: Tagore and his Circle”, being jointly coordinated by Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland and Visva-Bharati University, India. Before joining this university he taught English in Durgapur Government College, Visva-Bharati University and Seacom Skills University. He participated in various national and international seminars and conferences in India and abroad, and authored articles in many journals and books.

Mr. Tanmoy Putatunda, faculty of liberal arts

Mr. Tanmoy Putatunda completed his graduation and postgraduation in English Literature from Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan and at present he is pursuing his Ph.D from the same institute. He was awarded UGC- Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in 2013. Before joining this university he taught in Bhairab Ganguly College, Belghoria, Kolkata, as a guest faculty and worked as an instructor in the spoken English course in Visva-Bharati. Recently, he has also been part of a research project undertaken by IIM Kozhikode. His academic engagements apart, he also takes part in various co-curricular activities.
