Dr. Shyamal Kumar Pabi

Subjects : Metallurgical and Materials Engineering

Dr. Shyamal Kumar Pabi is currently Professor and Dean of Engineering and Technology of the Adamas University, West Bengal.

After graduation in Metallurgy from erstwhile Bengal  Engineering College and completing M. Tech in IIT, Bombay, Prof. Pabi joined IIT Kharagpur as a faculty in 1972, and served there till his retirement in December 2015.He has supervised 19 Ph.D. theses including his own. He has published more than 130 peer-reviewed papers mostly in international journals, which bears the signature of his original contributions in Materials Science. He developed a new equipment for measuring inert gas permeation flux atom by atom, formulated anIso-Concentration Contour Migration (ICCM) method for computer simulating phase transformation kinetics, published a modified ICCM method (i.e. MICCM method) for simulating nanostructure formation and mechanical alloying kinetics, conclusively answered a longstanding question inmartensite nucleation, achieved a breakthrough in a consolidating refractory metal like tungsten, published a Molecular Dynamic – Stochastic model for heat conduction by nanofluids, etc. A detailed account of his academic activities is available in the website www.skpabi.com .

He has been formerly the Head and Dean, Law School, Banaras Hindu University.

He has been formerly the Head and Dean, Law School, Banaras Hindu University.

 

Prof. Probir Kumar Gupta

Subjects : Economics And Commerce

Professor Probir Kumar Gupta is the Dean of the School of Management and the School of Commerce and Economics at Adamas University, Barasat since June 2016.

Prior to this assignment, he was the Dean of the Vinod Gupta School of Management, and the founder Head of the Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, both at IIT Kharagpur. During his tenure at IIT he served as the Chairman of the Sub-committee for Higher Management Education in the Ministry of HRD, and had undertaken study tours to Haas School of Management, Berkeley, University of California, Los Angeles, University of Nebraska, Omaha and the University of Washington, School of Law.

His extensive corporate career includes such positions as the Secretary of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Managing Director of Webel Nicco, Executive Director of Nicco Park and Resorts, Vice President of FAL Industies, the Indo-Swedish Company which with Facit, Ericssons and Electrolux, of Sweden introduced manufacture of electronic typewriters, vacuum cleaners and other white goods, and telecom instruments into India.

He has also worked asof General Manager Samuel Osborne Steels in UK and Singapore, and in the Machinery Building Division of Metal Box India during his early working days.

He graduated from IIT Kharagpur in Mechanical Engineering, and was the first recipient of the B C ROY Gold MEDAL of the Institute.

Dr. Rajat Ray

Subjects : Pharmacy

Dr. Rajat Ray, an alumnus of Jadavpur University from where he obtained his Graduation, Post-Graduation and Doctoral degrees, has joined Adamas University as a Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology in April 2016. Prof. Ray is a recognized Pharmaceutical Scientist and Academic Administrator with combined 36+ years’ experience. He took a training in Advanced Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Ghent Belgium on a Belgian Government scholarship. Skilled at teaching Pharmaceutics/Pharmaceutical Engineering and giving leadership to grow institutes offering courses in Pharmacy, Prof Ray carries out research on Development of Multi-Unit Drug Delivery System with modified biopolymer. He has authored and co-authored number of research articles published in national and international journal of repute. Professor Ray has taught in several institutes in Odisha, Rajasthan and West Bengal. He served as Vice- Principal in a Institute in Odisha and as an Academic Administrator in Visva Bharati, Santiniketan. He has been acting as an external examiner for Jadavpur University for the last 26 years and for institutes under Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal for the last 10 years.
