Adamas University organized an International Workshop on “Creative Writing and Creative Thinking” / “সৃজনশীল লিখন ও সৃজনশীল চিন্তন”

The Department of English and Bengali, School of Social Science, Adamas University jointly organized an International Workshop on “Creative Writing and Creative Thinking” / “সৃজনশীল লিখন ও সৃজনশীল চিন্তন” on 5th Aril, 2017 (Wednesday). The organizing committee of the workshop was privileged to have four eminent personalities as the resource persons and speakers in this event. They include Professor Bashabi Fraser, renowned poet and writer and Professor of English and Creative Writing,  Director of Scottish Centre of Tagore Studies (ScoTs), Edinburgh Napier University; Professor Neil Fraser, renowned author and former senior Lecturer of Social Science, Edinburgh University; Professor Pabitra Sarkar, renowned linguist and literary critic, Vice President of Paschimbanga Bangla Akademi, former Vice-Chancellor of Rabindra-Bharati University; and Professor Krishna Basu, renowned modern Bengali poet and author & former Professor of Bengali.

            The workshop was graced by the presence of the honourable Chancellor of the University, Prof. Samit Ray, President of RICE Group, Mr. Surojit Biswas, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Madhusudan Chakraborty, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Arun K. Majumdar, Registrar, Dr. T.K Ghoshal, Executive Vice-Chairman, Mr. Sunil Kr. Sarkar & the Deans of different Schools.

            The workshop was inaugurated by the respected Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the university which was followed by the lectures and deliberations of the Resource Persons. A total of 94 students from different departments of the University took part in this workshop. All the students have enthusiastically participated in different technical and interactive sessions conducted by the Resource Persons throughout the entire day. The workshop met with a great success and both the departments of English and Bengali are ambitious to organize many such events in near future.
