The discipline of economics enables understanding peoples’ interactions with society. It explores what prompts individuals to take certain decisions and how such decisions affect other stakeholders in society. The study of economics helps in designing mechanisms and policies to achieve organizational or societal outcomes that are valuable or sustainable, and efficient. Modern economics emancipates understanding issues in business, finance and industry, politics, public policy and social issues.
Economics department in Adamas University follow the philosophy: we not only impart knowledge and equip them with excellent training in economics but we also encourage our students to be creative thinkers and decision makers, who can offer innovative solutions to problems arising in the wider community they are a part of. Towards meeting this goal, our course structure is developed such that the academia is blended with industry interface. The students are trained with various software applications in the related fields, which are in demand in the current job market. Further, independent research is an integral part of all our teaching programs. The department offers various sub-disciplines in economics including advanced econometrics, environmental economics, financial economics, development economics, public economics, international economics, and health economics. All courses at the department follow Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) as recommended by the University Grants Commission.

2. Qualified in Adamas University Admission Test (AUAT).

Admission to the course will take place in terms of the admission notification issued by the university every year before the commencement of the academic session. Selection for admission to the course will be based on the eligibility criteria, aggregate marks (10+2), WBJEEB rank/ AIEEE rank.
