Dr. Debesh Choudhury

Subject : Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

Dr. Debesh Choudhury joined Adamas University as a Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering in June 2016. His fields of interest include signal and image processing, 3D imaging, digital holography, pattern recognition, polarization interferometry, laser metrology, optoelectronic instrumentation, adaptive optics, artificial color perception. He had earned a Ph.D. degree in Applied Photonics from IIT Bombay (1995), M.Sc.Tech. degree in Optics and Optoelectronics from University of Calcutta (1989) and B.Sc. degree in Physics (Honours) from Scottish Church College, University of Calcutta (1985). He had worked as a Scientist at Instruments R&D Establishment, a Lab under the Directorate of Electronics, DRDO, Government of India (1996 - 2007). He was a postdoctoral research scholar at The University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan on leave from DRDO (2000 - 2002). He left DRDO and entered the academic arena in 2007 as a Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering. In 2011, Dr. Choudhury discovered a new direction -- “Color perception using microwaves” jointly with celebrated American Scientist late Prof. H. John Caulfield. Dr. Choudhury was an invited speaker in two special (all invited speakers) international conferences: SPIE Conference “Tribute to H. John Caulfield” (San Diego, CA, Aug 25-29, 2013), and “International Symposium on 3D Imaging, Metrology and Data Security” (Shenzhen, China, Sep 27-29, 2015). Dr. Choudhury was also a Guest of Honor on the 70th Independence Day Celebration on August 15, 2016 at ABV Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior. He was featured in Forbes articles in 2015 and 2016. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and SPIE. He is an avid user and promoter of GNU/Linux and Open Source Software. He had performed in a Tabla fusion ensemble program in Doordarshan Kolkata directed by late Pandit Shankar Ghosh (1988).

 

Dr. Dipak Kumar Ghosh

Dr. Dipak Kumar Ghosh has joined Adamas University as Assistant Professor in Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering under the school of Engineering and Technology. He has completed B Tech from Kalyani Government Engineering College, Kalyani and M Tech from Department of Electrical Engineering, National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training & Research Kolkata and PhD from Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology Rourkela. 

 

Mr. Mithun Chakraborty

Subject : Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

Mr. Mithun Chakraborty has joined Adamas University as an Assistant Professor of Electronics & Communication Engineering in the School of Engineering & Technology in May 2016. Presently he is pursuing his PhD from National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, past he earned his M.Tech degree from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, SMU and B.E from North Bengal university (2004).  He is attached with academics since last 11 years. He has the expertise of teaching B.Tech subjects covering all areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Earlier he served as a Head of The Department of ECE, Surendra Institute of Engineering and Management, Siliguriwhere he was involved in Administering Departmental Student affairs, Faculty& Staff Recruitment, Departmental Purchase, Laboratory set up [15 different B.Tech Labs of ECE] , Departmental Stock Preparation, Laboratory Manual Preparation, Departmental Administration, Departmental Library formation, Class Monitoring etc.  His field of interest includes designing next generation e-vehicle for Intelligent Transportation Systems, Internet of Things, connected vehicles, 5G mobile networks.

 

Mrs Rupanwita Das Mahapatra

Subject : Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

An accomplished teacher Mrs Rupanwita Das Mahapatra  has joined Adamas University as Assistant Professor of Electronics & Communication in the faculty of Engineering & Technology. After acquiring her Master's degree in Electronics & Communication specializing in Communication Engineering from NIT,Durgapur, she gained a teaching experience of eight years in reputed colleges and universities of Bangalore,Orissa,West Bengal .Her area of interest encompasses Analog Electronics, Wireless Communication ,Microprocessor and Microcontroller. Her  paper titled ' FIS based cognitive radio scheduling ' and  ‘Optimal Power Control for Cognitive Radio in SpectrumDistribution Using ANFIS ‘were  published in IEEE Conferences. 

 

Professor Aniruddha Ghosal

Subject : Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

Professor Aniruddha Ghosal received his B.sc.(Physics Honours) and B.Tech. (Radio Physics & Electronics) degrees from Calcutta University in year 1976 and 1979 respectively. He obtained M.Tech. and Ph.D degrees in Radio Physics & Electronics from Calcutta University in the year 1982 and 1989 respectively.

He was awarded Commonwealth Scholarship for research in Semiconductor Physics at  the University of Essex, in  U.K. during  the period 1986-1989. He joined as a Lecturer in the Department of Radio Physics & Electronics, University of Calcutta. He became Professor in the same Department in the year 2009. Recently on 16thJanuary 2017, he has joined as the Professor in ECE Department in Adamas University.

In his entire research career the author has devoted himself in the study of Electron Transport Characteristics in Bulk, Quantum well, Quantum wire and Superlattices of Semiconductor structures  and also Solitons in Metamaterials and Ferroelectrics. The author has made till now 50publications in Referred Journals and 16publications in International Conferences. His present research interest encompasses the Study of  Quantum Transport in VLSI circuitry. He is presently guiding 4 research scholars in the field of Electron Transport in Low Dimensional Semiconductor structures in Calcutta University. 

 

Ms. Manasi Das

Subject : Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

Ms. Manasi Das received her B. Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology, in 2007 and M. E. in Control System Engineering from Jadavpur University in 2010.

Ms. Das received a Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) from the Council of Scientific and Industrial research (CSIR), India for pursuing doctoral studies and in 2012 she was registered as a Ph D candidate under the joint supervision of Prof. T.K.Ghoshal and Prof. Smita Sadhu in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. The topic of her dissertation was “Fault Detection and State Estimation for Aerospace Systems”. She has already submitted her Ph.D. thesis in October, 2016.

Her subject interest for teaching are in Control System Engineering, Signals and Systems, Circuit Theory and Networks, Digital Signal Processing. Her area of research includes Nonlinear Aerospace Systems, Nonlinear Estimators, Adaptive Kalman Filter, Fault Detection and Isolation.

Ms. Das has published four papers in reputed peer reviewed Journals, like IET Signal Processing, IET Science Measurement and Technology, Journal of Aerospace Information Systems published by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). She also has seven conference papers to her credit, of which two are in international conferences abroad. She has all total 30 citations of her research papers.

She has joined Adamas University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of ECE in 2017.

 

Mr. Jeet Banerjee

Subject : Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

Jeet Banerjee received the B.Tech (ECE), and M.Tech (ECE-Comm.) degrees from Kanksa Academy of Technology & Management (presently Techno India Durgapur) and Netaji Subhash Engineering College affiliated under West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata, India, in 2013, and 2015, respectively.

He is an Assistant Professor at Adamas University. He is working towards his Ph.D. as a Part-time Research Scholar in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, at National Institute of Technology Durgapur, India. His areas of research include microstrip antenna, fractal UWB antennas, and MIMO antennas. He has publications in various national/international conferences. He is a professional member of IEEE and has more than 1.5 years of experience in teaching Engineering and Technology.

 

Mr. Nisarga Chand

Subject : Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

Mr. Nisarga Chand joined as an assistant professor in the department of Electronics & Communication Engineering under School of Engineering & Technology (S.O.E.T) at Adamas University, Barasat since April 2017. Earlier, was an Assistant Professor in the department of Electronics& Communication Engineering at Mallabhum Institute of Technology, Bishnupur, Bankura from July, 2011 to March, 2017. He has 6 years of experience in teaching till date.

Hereceived his B. Tech. degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology in 2009 and M. Tech. in Communication Engineering from NetajiSubhash Engineering College under W.B.U.T in 2011.

His subject interest for teaching are in Digital Communication, Wireless Communication & Networks, Telecommunication Systems, Coding & Information theory, Computer Communication & Networking, Basic Electronics, Analog Electronics etc. His area of research includesCryptography & Network Security, Wireless sensor network. Recently work on EMG signal detection &processing. He has published a number of articles in conference proceedings and journals of international repute, some of them are yet to be communicated soon. He guided several projects for students as a project mentor in this field. He also life member of Forum of Scientists, Engineers and Technologists.

 

Mr. Susamay Samanta

Subject : Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

Mr. Susamay Samanta joined Adamas University as Assistant Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering in April 2017. His research area includes design, simulation, prototype fabrication, testing and validation of microwave antennas of novel technologies. He is a member of IEEE Antennas & Propagation Society as well. He is pursuing PhD at the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta. He obtained M.Tech degree in Modern Communication Engineering in the year 2015 from Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur, West Bengal under the affiliation of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology) and B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering in the year 2011 from Academy of Technology, West Bengal under the affiliation of former West Bengal University of Technology.  He has important contributions in the field of novel microwave antenna design and development through a number of reputed international journal and conference publications. He is a reviewer of Progress In Electromagnetics Research Journal, EMW Publishing, Cambridge, USA.
