Dr. Palashpriya Das

Subject : Microbiology

Dr. Palashpriya Das, alumnus of IIT Kharagpur; holds Bachelor of Science (Microbiology) from University of Calcutta. In pursuit of intellectual fulfillment she pursued double Masters -Master of Science (Microbiology) from University of Calcutta and M.Tech. in Biotechnology from Jadavpur University. She was awarded with Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT-KGP) in 2009 in the domain of Applied Microbiology.


Dr Abinit Saha

Subject : Biotechnology (Adjunct/Associate Faculty )

Dr. Abinit Saha completed his Bachelor degree from Vivekananda College, Thakurpukur with Zoology (Hons.). He secured 2nd rank in B.Sc Zoology (Hons.)  from University of Calcutta. He completed his Master degree in Zoology with specialization in Endocrinology from University of Calcutta. He obtained “Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)” from Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India in 2008. In the same year, he joined to Bose Institute, India, one of the best premier research institutes for his doctoral program. He started his Ph.D. work in 2008 at the Department of Biochemistry, Bose Institute and was awarded Ph.D. degree in 2016 from University of Calcutta in Biotechnology. After getting his Ph.D. degree Dr. Saha joined Adamas University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology in 2016.

His research interests span over several topics in Biochemistry and Biotechnology e.g., transcription biology; Prokaryotic Gene Regulation; Protein-nucleic acid interactions; cyclic AMP signalling in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes and Macromolecular crystallography.
He has published his doctoral work in reputed international journals and also presented his work in various national and international conferences. He has also done some collaborative research work with other eminent faculty members from Bose Institute.

Dr. Saha also worked as Project Associate from July 1, 2013 to February 28, 2014 to assist in writing the book entitled “The History of Science in India, Volume VIII, Bio-Chemistry, Bio-Physics and Molecular Biology” under the guidance of Prof. N.C. Mondal and Prof. Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay, sponsored by the National Academy of Science, India, Allahabad, Govt. of India.

Dr. Saha received K.S .RAO Memorial Award and Teachers’ Council Award from Vivekanada College, Thakurpukur for securing highest marks in B. Sc. (Zoology Hons).


Dr Manoj Kumar Singh

Subject : Biotechnology (Adjunct/Associate Faculty )

Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh has graduated in Zoology (hons) from Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag, Jharkhand (attaining best Student award and Kaushailya Devi’s Memorial Award for delivering excellent talk in B.Sc. Seminar Series, 2003); did his M.Sc in Biotechnology from The University Of Burdwan, West Bengal and completed Ph.D. from CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, (under Jadavpur University), Kolkata in the year 2014. Earlier to joining Adamas University he was Post Doctoral Research Associate in a CSIR project in the University of Kalyani. His area of research includes Immunology of Infectious diseases, Host Pathogen interaction, Natural product biology and Bioethics. 

He has presented paper/poster and participated in two national and four international seminars/ symposium. His Poster titled “Protective efficacy of Leishmanial glycolipids against visceral leishmaniasis” was selected as the “Best Poster” Presented in the international seminar,” 75th annual meeting of Society Of Biological Chemists (India) at J.N.U. New Delhi, 2006”. He has four peer reviewed research papers in reputed refereed journals.


Dr. Arindam Mitra

Subject : Microbiology

Designation: Assistant Professor (Department in charge)

With over 14 years of cumulative teaching and research experience, Dr.Arindam Mitra joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology under School of Science, Adamas University. Dr.Mitra received B. Pharm and M.Tech in Biotechnology from Jadavpur University, West Bengal, India and earned his Ph.D. from University of Maryland, College Park, USA in 2008. His doctoral work focused on a model two-component regulatory system in Escherichia coli and analyzed its role in virulence. Subsequently, Dr.Mitra did his postdoctoral research work on vaccine development at the Arizona State University, USA from 2008 to 2012. Dr Mitra’s research interests are bacterial pathogenesis, biofilms and development of veterinary vaccines. Dr.Mitra was previously associated with School of Chemical and Biotechnology, SASTRA University, Tamil Nadu as Senior Assistant Professor for two years. Dr.Mitra received numerous awards such as American Society for Microbiology Science Teaching Fellow 2015-16, Distinguished Faculty Award at Venus International Faculty Awards in 2016, Academic Award for Vaccine Development at International Life Sciences Awards 2016 and Microbiology Society Champion for the year 2016-17. Dr.Mitra also served as Academic coordinator for the School of Science at Adamas University in 2015-16. Dr.Mitra is currently acting as reviewer for several international journals such as Vaccine, Food Research International and Recent Patents on Biotechnology.
