Dr. Srijani Bhattacharjee

Subject : History

Dr. Srijani Bhattacharyya De has been appointed as Assistant Professor of History in the department of Liberal Arts, Adamas University. A research scholar on 'Colonial forestry in Assam & post-colonial initiatives' from Centre for Historical Studies, School of Social Sciences, JNU, Dr. De is keenly interested to gain and share historical facts about North-east India, which she feels has not been given its due adequately. An M.Phil. From JNU engaging 'Colonial forestry & its impact in Assam' and a gold medalist from Assam University for her contribution to Modern Indian History, she has bagged several other awards and recognition for her works and achievements. A thorough professional with demonstrated experience of involving concepts into classroom teaching methods, Dr. De has published several of her writings and papers in various journals.


Ms Angira Kar

Subject : History

Ms Angira Kar has graduated from Lady Keane College, Shillong and post graduated from North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. She has specialised in Modern Indian History. She has completed her M.Phil from the same university and has submitted her PhD thesis to North Eastern Hill University, Shillong.

Area of Research
Her area of interests relates to the study of trends and developments in the society and economy with particular reference to trade and markets in historical perspectives. Her interest also lies in the history of Eastern Bengal and North East India. She is a life member of North East India History Association.

Past Employment
Taught in Don Bosco College, TURA, Meghalaya, as Lecturer in History in Pre-University, Degree and Honours Level since Aug. 1993 till Feb. 1998, in Permanent post.
Taught as Part time Lecturer in History in Umshyrpi College, Shillong, Meghalaya from June 1999 to June 2000.
Taught in Women’s College, Shillong, Meghalaya, from July, 2000 to August 2016
