Dr. Debanjana Dey

Subject : Economics

Designation: Assistant Professor

Debanjana Dey teaches Economics at Adamas University, Kolkata. She is a Ph.D. from Department of Economics, University of Calcutta. She researches on ecological sustainability and urban planning, with focus on peri-urban processes in the Global South and trying to reinvent herself as an interdisciplinary scholar, while retaining a bend of mind for economics. She has published with international houses such as Sage and Springer and read papers at influential conferences. She enjoys teaching both quantitative and qualitative aspects of economic life.   

 

Mr. Samyo Basu

Subject : Economics

Designation: Assistant Professor

Mr. Samyo Basu, completing his M.Phil dissertation on Marxian political economy from Calcutta University, has recently joined Adamas University in 2016. His interests lie in the class analysis of the third world economies as compared to the non-conflictual teleological approach that modern development economics has towards them. To him, it is not just the economy but a confluence of culture, politics, economy and nature that shapes the trajectory of post-colonial (capitalist) development. Besides these, he teaches advanced microeconomics, macroeconomics and has a knack for literature on development economics and the Indian economy and its history. He graduated in economics from Scottish Church College, Kolkata, West Bengal and has done his post-graduations from the University of Calcutta.

 

Dr. Nivedita Mandal

Subject : Economics

Designation: Assistant Professor

Dr. Nivedita Mandal teaches Economics at Adamas University, Kolkata since June 2015. She focuses on financial economics and has studied capital and derivative markets in an emerging economy like India. In her three years of teaching career, she has taught both management and economics students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She believes in class room innovation and pedagogical experimentation, while attempting to extend the reach of economics.  She has graduated in Economics from Lady Brabourne College, University of Calcutta, post graduated in Applied Economics from Department of Economics, University of Calcutta, and completed M.Phil. in Finance from IFHE, Hyderabad and Ph.D. in  Financial Economics from Mizoram University in 2015.

 

Dr. Rituparna Das

Subject : Economics

Designation: Professor

Professor Dr. Rituparna Das's full time teaching experience is approximately 17 years. His qualifications include PhD, NET and SLET in Economics with first class MBA degree of IISW & BM (Calcutta University) as additional qualification. Previous administrative experiences include inter alia Director position of the Centre for Studies in Banking and Finance set up by the corpus of the Reserve Bank of India endowed to National Law University, Jodhpur. Research outputs cover more than three dozens of international publications including Elsevier, Oxford, Scopus indexed and Thomson Reuter Indexed. He received invitation for Fulbright-Nehru Academic Excellence Fellowship Programme for Faculty at Argosy University. The Institutions of his previous full time services are W.B. National University of Juridical Sciences Kolkata, National Institute of Bank Management Pune, National Law University Jodhpur and University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Dehradun. Places where visiting/guest/part time faculty position were offered to him include City University of Hong Kong, Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISW&BM) Kolkata and Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration Kolkata. His is life member of, inter alia, Indian Statistical Institute, The Indian Econometric Society and Indian Economic Association. 

 

Mr. Swapan Chakraborty

Designation: Assistant Professor

Mr. Swapan Chakraborty has joined Adamas University in the Department of Economics from 25th November,2016. Mr.Swapan Chakraborty has graduated from Narendrapur Ramkrishna Mission Residential College under Calcutta University, Post graduated from the Department of Economics, Calcutta University. He did his M.Phil from the Department of Economics, Delhi School of Economics ( Delhi University) in 2010. Currently he is pursuing his Phd(Economics) from Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University. His area of interest is in Applied Econometrics, Macroeconomics and Political Economy.

 

Dr. Sabyasachi Tripathi

Subject : Economics

Designation: Assistant Professor

Sabyasachi Tripathi teaches Economics at Adamas University, Kolkata. He completed PhD in Economics from Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore in 2013. Before he joined at Adamas University he has worked as Fellow in Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER). He has been ranked in the Top 25% Economists in India by the Research Papers in Economics (RePEc) from 2016. His research papers have received meritorious attention from the global community in various International and National Conferences held in different countries in the world. He has received the best thesis award in 2013 from Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore. He has participated as a Young Economist in the 4th Lindau Meeting of the Winners of the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel held in Lindau, Germany. He teaches international trade, mathematical economics and econometrics.
