Professor (Dr.) BhriguNath Pandey, Dean, School of Law & Justice is a renowned  scholar of law with specialization in Intellectual Property Law, Administrative law, Constitutional Law and Land Laws having  more than 41 years of extensive academic exercise. He has been formerly the Head and Dean, Law School, Banaras Hindu University.

 

Ms. Rajrupa Sinha Roy

Subject : Law

Designation: Assistant Professor

Ms. Rajrupa Sinha Roy has joined the Adamas University after completing her LLM from NALSAR University of Law in Corporate Law and Governance. She is pursuing her Doctoral degree from Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, IIT Kharagpur on area “Law and Policy issues on pollution of river Ganga in West Bengal”. She worked as a Junior Research Fellow in the project “Ganga River Basin Management and Policy and Plan” of Ministry of Environment and Forest Project and IIT Kharagpur for more than 2 years. She also has an experience of being a Teaching Assistant in a course on Technology Transfer through Joint Venture, a National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) by IIT Kharagpur and Ministry of Human Resource from February- April 2016. Ms. Sinha Roy has published some of her research works in different law journals and also participated in various International and National Conferences.

 

Dr. Silla Ramsundar

Dr. Silla Ramsundar, a doctorate in law with 16 years of Academic and Bar experience, has been appointed as Professor of Law at Adamas University. A rare combination of teaching and practicing law, he is equipped with the ability to incorporate practical methods during classroom teaching. His extensive research in the field of commercial law with special emphasis on Information Technology, definitely gives him an advantage of keeping pace with technological developments. With a demonstrated ability to impart education on the subject in some of the well-known institutions like National Judicial Academy & National law Universities across the country, Dr. Ramsundar is sure to create a multi-cultural and an IT savvy environment which encourages inclusion and modernization. 

 

Dr. Ripon Bhattacharjee

Designation: Assistant Professor

A competent and dedicated teacher Dr. Ripon Bhattacharjee joined Adamas University in the position of Assistant Professor, faculty of Law. Proven ability in classroom management and student motivation, he has earned a Doctorate degree in the field of Environmental Law. Dr. Bhattacharya, post acquiring his Master’s degree in Law, gained teaching experience in Government Law College, Tripura, AURO University, Gujarat & Alliance University, Bangalore. Through his industrial projects and extensive research works, he has gathered remarkable exposure in the spheres of Environmental Law &socio-legal framework and justice system for women in our country.An action oriented professional, Dr. Bhattacharjee has also got some relevant articles and reports published in various national and international Journals.

 

Mr. Sujit Kumar Nandy

He is a former member of the Judicial Service of the State; served in different Civil and Criminal Courts including being a District and Session Judge. He also served as the Professor of Law in the LalBahadurShastri National Academy of Administration (Govt. of India), Mussorie. He also taught at the National University of Juridical Sciences Kolkata, Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, a unit of IIT Kharagpur andalso in the West Bengal Judicial Academy, Salt lakeKolkata. He joined Adamas University as a professor in School of Law &Justice.

Dr. Srijani Bhattacharjee

Subject : History (Adjunct/Associate Faculty )

Dr. Srijani Bhattacharyya De has been appointed as Assistant Professor of History in the department of Liberal Arts, Adamas University. A research scholar on 'Colonial forestry in Assam & post-colonial initiatives' from Centre for Historical Studies, School of Social Sciences, JNU, Dr. De is keenly interested to gain and share historical facts about North-east India, which she feels has not been given its due adequately. An M.Phil. From JNU engaging 'Colonial forestry & its impact in Assam' and a gold medalist from Assam University for her contribution to Modern Indian History, she has bagged several other awards and recognition for her works and achievements. A thorough professional with demonstrated experience of involving concepts into classroom teaching methods, Dr. De has published several of her writings and papers in various journals.

 

Dr. Jnana Ranjan Prusty

A diligent and committed teacher Dr. Jnana Ranjan Prusty is taking on the position of Assistant Professor of Sociology, department of Liberal Arts at Adamas University. Post bagging his doctoral degree in Sociology from IIT-Guwahati in the year 2014, Dr. Prusty served as a Guest Lecturer at BJB Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar. With his effective style of teaching that breaks the conventional mold, combined with his ability to encourage students to participate better, Dr. Prusty will certainly accomplish the educational goals of the University.

 

Mr. Samyo Basu

Designation: Assistant Professor

Mr. Samyo Basu, completing his M.Phil dissertation on Marxian political economy from Calcutta University, has recently joined Adamas University in 2016. His interests lie in the class analysis of the third world economies as compared to the non-conflictual teleological approach that modern development economics has towards them. To him, it is not just the economy but a confluence of culture, politics, economy and nature that shapes the trajectory of post-colonial (capitalist) development. Besides these, he teaches advanced microeconomics, macroeconomics and has a knack for literature on development economics and the Indian economy and its history. He graduated in economics from Scottish Church College, Kolkata, West Bengal and has done his post-graduations from the University of Calcutta.

 

Dr. Nivedita Mandal

Designation: Assistant Professor

Dr. Nivedita Mandal teaches Economics at Adamas University, Kolkata since June 2015. She focuses on financial economics and has studied capital and derivative markets in an emerging economy like India. In her three years of teaching career, she has taught both management and economics students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She believes in class room innovation and pedagogical experimentation, while attempting to extend the reach of economics.  She has graduated in Economics from Lady Brabourne College, University of Calcutta, post graduated in Applied Economics from Department of Economics, University of Calcutta, and completed M.Phil. in Finance from IFHE, Hyderabad and Ph.D. in  Financial Economics from Mizoram University in 2015.

 

Dr. Moumita Mukherjee

Dr. Moumita Mukherjee is an alumni of Presidency College and Calcutta University; she completed her Master degree in Physics from University of Calcutta. Dr. Mukherjee received M.Sc. (Physics) degree with specialization in Electronics and Communication, M.Tech. Degree in Biomedical Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering and Ph.D. (Tech.) degree in Radio Physics and Electronics (2009), University of Calcutta, India. She obtained Full timeDRDO-“Senior Research Fellowship” and in continuation to that Post Doctoral “Research Associate – I” position under DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India. She was Visiting Scientist, INEX, Newcastle University, UK for two years. She obtained PDF position from Technical University, Darmstadt, Germany. Dr. Mukherjee is technical core committeemember (Biomedical Engineer) and technical ambassador of HUMAI –USA.

Dr. Mukherjee is former Scientist (Reader Grade) of DRDO Centre of Excellence under Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India (2011 - 2015).  Dr. Mukherjee has joined Adamas University in 2015 and working as Associate Dean and Academic coordinator of School of Science. Dr. Mukherjee has guided more than 20 Master’s thesis under Calcutta University , West Bengal University of Health Sciences and West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) and supervising three Ph.D. theses under WBUT and Adamas University. Dr. Mukherjee is Visiting / Adjunct Professor and member of Board of Studies of the Joint Academic program on Biomedical Instrumentation conducted by Calcutta University and the West Bengal University of Health Sciences.

Her research interest is focused on the design and fabrication of Millimetre and Sub-millimetre (Terahertz) wave high power homo-junction/hetero-junction devices based on wide-band-gap semiconductors, photo-irradiation effects on the high power Terahertz solid state oscillators, nano-biosensors, Photonics and Medical Electronics & Instruments. She has published more than 140 peer-reviewed research papers on semiconductor devices, Biomedical Electronics and photonics in several reputed International refereed journals and IEEE/SPIE/ELSEVIER/SPRINGER–Proceedingswith citation globally. She is reviewer of a number of international peer reviewed journals and editorial board member of international journals. She is the author of a number of international book-chapters, and worked as a Volume Editor and author of three ISBN numbered books published from UK and India.  She has delivered a number of invited talk and presented several research articles in IEEE International Conferences and acted in various capacities such as “Technical Session Chair”, “Organizer, “Organizing Secretary” and “Convenor” in IEEE& DST International Conferences in India and abroad.

Dr. Mukherjee has received National Merit Scholarship award from Govt. of India and was enlisted in ‘Marques Who’s Who in Science and Engineering’ and ‘Marques Who’s Who in the World’. She has received “IEEE best paper award” two times in 2009 and 2010, prestigious Best Scientist Award, Bharat Gaurav Award in 2015, Best paper award in Science and Technology Congress, India in 2012. 

Dr. Mukherjee is the Member of IEEE (USA), IEEE-ED society (USA) and life member of Indian Science Congress.

 

Ms. Rimi Nandy

Subject : English (Adjunct/Associate Faculty )

Ms. Rimi Nandy completed Masters in English Literature from Jadavpur University. She also has a PG Diploma in Digital Humanities and Cultural Informatics from Jadavpur University. She has been a UGC Project Fellow at School of Media and Communications, Jadavpur University. Ms. Nandy has also been a part of the Project “Mapping Digital Humanities in India”, conducted by Centre for the Study of Culture and Society. She has a teaching experience of over 5 years and has taught in Lorteo College, Kolkata and CMR University, Bangalore. 

 

Dr. Biswanath Banerjee

Dr. Biswanath Banerjee has completed his doctoral studies from Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan. After completing his masters, he had been engaged with a number of research projects in Visva-Bharati, namely— “The Chronological English Writings of Rabindranath Tagore”, “Rabindranath Tagore and Science, etc.” He had been nominated as a fellow of the UGC-UKIERI Project on “Scottish Orientalism and the Indian Renaissance, the Continuum of Ideas: Tagore and his Circle”, being jointly coordinated by Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland and Visva-Bharati University, India. Before joining this university he taught English in Durgapur Government College, Visva-Bharati University and Seacom Skills University. He participated in various national and international seminars and conferences in India and abroad, and authored articles in many journals and books.

 

Ms. Ankita Mookherjee

Subject : Sociology (Adjunct/Associate Faculty )

Ms. Ankita Mookherjee has graduated from Hindu College under Delhi University; post graduated from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi , completed M.Phil from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and is pursuing her Ph.D. from the same institute. Her area of research includes Sociology of Knowledge, Sociology of Intellectuals, Indian sociology and Research Methodology. 

 

Dr. Saheli Guha Neogi Ghatak

Dr. Saheli Guha Neogi Ghatak has graduated from Lady Brabourne College, Kolkata, West Bengal and post graduated from University of Calcutta and did her Ph.D from University of Calcutta. Her area of research includes Sociology of Aging, Quality of Life, Rural and Urban Sociology. She has more than six national and international publications and more than twenty paper presentations. She was invited as resource person in National TV channel and UGC sponsored seminars in colleges and universities. She has more than three years of experience of teaching in West Bengal State University and Vidyasagar College for Women.

 

Ms Angira Kar

Subject : History (Adjunct/Associate Faculty )

Ms Angira Kar has graduated from Lady Keane College, Shillong and post graduated from North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. She has specialised in Modern Indian History. She has completed her M.Phil from the same university and has submitted her PhD thesis to North Eastern Hill University, Shillong.

Area of Research
Her area of interests relates to the study of trends and developments in the society and economy with particular reference to trade and markets in historical perspectives. Her interest also lies in the history of Eastern Bengal and North East India. She is a life member of North East India History Association.

Dr. Mahua Ghosal

Dr. Mahua Ghosal joined Adamas University in the Department of Political Science, Public Administration & International Relations. Dr. Mahua Ghosal prior to joining Adamas University had about five years of Teaching experience in KIIT University, Bhubeneswar, BIT, Mesra, Ranchi and RAJ College in West Bengal. Dr.Ghosal obtained Ph.D from IIT Kharagpur and her research area was “Self Help Group, Micro Credit & Women Empowerment”. Dr. Ghosal was also a Research Associate in IIT Kharagpur and worked in the Area in of MGNREGA. Dr.Ghosal is a Gold Medal Awardee for being the Topper in M.A. Political Science of the Vidyasagar University. She was also awarded with Asutosh Paul Memorial Endowment Medal. Dr. Mahua Ghosal presented 5 papers in the International/National Seminar/Conferences/Workshop and has published paper in a National Journal.

Dr. Rupam Sen

Subject : Chemistry (Adjunct/Associate Faculty )

An eminent research scholar, with 10 years of experience in  research, Dr. Rupam Sen has joined Adamas University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry. Aftersuccessfully finishing his Ph.D. from Jadavpur University, Kolkata on MOF-based multifunctionalmaterials synthesis, he received the FCT-international postdoctoral fellowship, where he worked on the same field at Aveiro University, after finishing this he was awarded the prestigious fellowship JSPS (Japan Society for the promotion of Science), Japan and work there on the development of photo/thermo responsive materials which can be used as the potential actuator at molecular level. During his Ph. D. and post-doctoral research he published a lot of research articlesin journal of international repute. He also earned the prestigious Dr. D. S. Kothari post-doctoral fellowship, National Scholarship and Silver medal as meritorious student during his early studies. He is still actively engaged in research work and more will be executed in the Adamas University.  He is now developing hybrid systems for site specific MOF-based heterogeneous catalysis in Adamas University. He also has expertise reviewinginternational journals. Besides his outstanding academic and research, he is very amiable person which make him easy approachable forthe students. After all, Dr. Sen looks forward to encourage the Adamas University students not for only studying but also for social and cultural development, which will create a constructive and healthy atmosphere everywhere.
