About the Program:
The Master of Commerce is a 2-years Postgraduate Degree program offered by the department. The program carries UGC approved CBCS syllabus. There are total 4 semesters which are distributed as 2 semesters per year. In Semesters 3 and 4, students are allowed to take their choice courses out of the offered courses. The program grooms the student with masterly skills in the area of Accountancy, Management Accountancy and Finance and also sets them towards a teaching and research career in the domain of Commerce. It also provides an excellent grounding for all professional studies as well as creates impetus for research. The program enjoys the support of Career Development Cell (CDC) for Placement, Career counselling and personality development.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
PEO 01: To generate a specialized knowledge before the students on Trade and Commerce.
PEO 02: To develop the students with masterly skills on Accounting, Management Accounting and Financial Management.
PEO 03: To impart specialized knowledge to the students on specific Trade and Commerce practices including Taxation, Auditing, BFSI and Management.
PEO 04: To provide with the concepts and analytical skills to the students to develop independent decision making ability in the process of business execution and research
Program Outcomes (POs)
PO1: Specialized knowledge on Trade and Commerce – Students will develop specialized knowledge in the different facets of Trade and Commerce.
PO2: Masterly skills in Accounting, Management Accounting and Financial Management – Students will acquire masterly skills on Accounting, Management Accounting and Financial Management.
PO3: Specific Trade and Commerce practices – Students will develop specialized knowledge on specific Trade and Commerce practices including Taxation, Auditing, BFSI and Management.
PO4: Analytical skills for Decision Making and Research– Students will learn the concepts and analytical skills to develop independent decision making ability in the process of business execution and research.
Minimum 50% in aggregate 10 +2 or equivalent from any recognized board and Minimum 50% aggregate in B.Com (Hons.) in any discipline from any recognised University in India or abroad.
