M.Sc. (Economics)

About the Program

The M.Sc. in Economics is a two-year postgraduate program having specialization tracks in applied econometrics, public policy and banking & finance. The Program aims to provide rigorous training in modern economic theories and techniques with a special emphasis on evaluating the policy issues. The graduates of M.Sc. program will gain skills required for advanced research in variety of domains in economics and will have strong grasp over collecting, collating, analyzing data and providing meaningful insights form the analysis. This is supplemented by series of courses based on advanced tools and techniques for data analysis aided by different software (s) and a dedicated yearlong master dissertation. The graduates will gain lifelong learning skills during the program such as leadership and teamwork and become industry ready with cutting edge knowledge.

PEO 01: To prepare graduates for an advanced career in the field of Economics and Economic research fulfilling the global and domestic industry requirements

At the end of the Program the students will be able to:

PO 02: Problem Analysis and Critical thinking / Demonstrate an ability to construe data and information and critically examine the outcomes in relation to economic theories   

PO 03: Modern IT Tools / Efficiently adopt software (s) in conducting advanced analysis of economic data and other research oriented activities 

PO 04: Business and Society / Appraise the importance of economics as a discipline in context of business and society  

PO 05: Environment and sustainability / Draw inferences on concerns emerging from environmental changes as implied to society at large 

PO 06: Ethics / Hone ethical behavior and become sensitive towards the society

Eligibility Criteria
Under Graduate degree in economics or applied economics (honours or major) from any recognised university in India or abroad with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Adamas University conducts AUAT for M.Sc. in Economics admission. Selected candidates will be called to the campus for further admission rounds such as personal interview and group discussion.

Internship and Placements

The Department of Economics and School of Business and Economics is supported by a Career Development Centre (CDC) of Adamas University and a dedicated committee of faculty members within the department for placement and internship related activities. The two jointly not only provides support in placements and internships for the students but also orient the students to get industry ready. The department also organize boot camps focusing on these activities time to time. Some of our prominent recruiters in recent past have been Bank of America, Reliance Jio, Kotak, Bajaj Finance, Empaxis, and many more.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Economics

About the Program

The B.Sc. (H) Economics program at AU offers a stimulating and flexible arrangement of study invigorated by research and innovative learning pedagogies, which advances a student’s ability to develop academic and practical insights into the domain of Economics. Within the program students are encouraged to develop a broad range of transferable and technical expertise via developing a thorough grounding in analytical methods and apply them to a diverse range of problems, addressing important corporate concerns, social issues and policy questions. The graduates from AU will be able to construct complex arguments and communicate these effectively, developing wider employability skills within diverse sectors of economy, intuitions and private organizations.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum 55% aggregate in 10 +2 or equivalent from any recognized board and Mathematics as one of the subject.
