Prof. (Dr.) Jyotsna Yagnik

Pro Vice Chancellor and Director of School of Law & Justice

Prof. Jyotsna Yagnik, Former Principal Judge, City Civil Courts, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, has been teaching Law and imparting training to senior officers for about 33 years. She is the Former Principal of Law College and a Former Director of Yagnik Law Academy, which offers coaching for judiciary exams.

An arbitrator and mediator, Prof. Yagnik is currently imparting education to trial court judges, trainee IAS, IPS and police officers, senior executives, etc. She is an Adjunct Professor at Law School, Nirma University. After teaching at other Universities like Forensic Science University, Prof. Yagnik joined Adamas University as a Pro Vice Chancellor and Director of School of Law & Justice.

Prof.Ujjwal K Chowdhury

Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of School of Media & Communication

Prof. Ujjwal K. Chowdhury is a leading media and communication academic of India. He has served as the Dean of Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication(Pune) and Amity University (Mumbai), Whistling Woods International (Mumbai), and Pearl Academy of Delhi and Mumbai. He is known for his convergent approach to media education, starting from an integrated broad base and leading to focused specialisation at the top. He is a known face in TV studio debates and a regular writer in the Indian media. He had earlier been employed with Business India TV, Zee News, the Times of India Group and WHO Media, among others.

Prof. (Dr.) Jitendra K. Pandey

Dean of School of Basic and Applied Sciences

Prof.(Dr.) Jitendra K. Pandey completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry (Polymer Science), 2007 from National Chemical Laboratory-Pune. His research areas are in Bio/ Nano- composites, degradation and stabilization of polymer composites, nano-material for water treatment, synthesis, characterization and analysis of reinforced composites. He has 70+ Reasearch artciles, 6 Books, 17 Patents to his credit. He was associated in Research and Development in University of petroleum and energy studies Dehradun, Brain Pool Fellow Seol National University, South Korea, The University of Tokushima, Japan, Max Planck Institute of Colloid and Interfaces, Golm Germany in various roles prior joining Adamas University.

Prof. (Dr.) Rajat Ray

Dean of School of Pharmaceutical Technology

Prof. Rajat Ray, an alumnus of Jadavpur University from where he obtained his graduation and post-graduation degrees and PhD, joined Adamas University in April 2016 as a Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology. Prof. Ray is a recognised Pharmaceutical Scientist and Academic Administrator with a combined experience of 36+ years. He took a training course in Advanced Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Ghent Belgium on a Belgian Government scholarship.

Skilled at teaching Pharmaceutics/ Pharmaceutical Engineering and providing leadership to grow institutes offering courses in Pharmacy, Prof. Ray carries out research on the Development of a Multi-Unit Drug Delivery System with modified biopolymer. He has authored and co-authored a number of research articles published in national and international journals of repute.

Prof. Ray has taught in several institutes in Odisha, Rajasthan and West Bengal. He served as Vice Principal at an institute in Odisha and as an Academic Administrator at Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan. He has been acting as an external examiner for Jadavpur University for the last 26 years and for institutes under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal, for the last 10 years.

Prof. (Dr.) Mrityunjoy Chatterjee

Dean of School of Liberal Arts and Culture Studies

With a PhD and Masters in Journalism & Mass Communication and an Honours graduation degree in Commerce, Prof. Chatterjee is presently working as a Professor and Dean for the School of Liberal Arts and Culture Studies, Adamas University. Earlier, he was the CEO-Chairman and Chancellor Cell of RICE & Adamas Group.

Before joining the Adamas Group, Prof. Chatterjee worked as the Director of Eastern India’s largest media and design school — NSHM Institute of Media & Design, Kolkata. He was the Founder Director of three Schools — School of Communication, Fine Arts and Fashion Design — under Amity University, Kolkata. He was also Director, Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship & Development (iLEAD), and Principal, NSHM School of Media & Communication.

An eminent journalist, writer and corporate trainer, Prof. Chatterjee served the media industry for more than two decades in responsible positions in print media, news agencies, radio and television. Travelling widely, Prof. Chatterjee has covered important political and sports events in the country and abroad. He has also been a packager with the BBC Bengali Service and a popular compere and news reader with All India Radio, Doordarshan and private channels.

The important positions he held in the media industry included Input Editor, ETV Network; Editorial Coordinator (East), BSTV; Chief of Bureau, TVI Network; and Senior Correspondent, United News of India (UNI).

An expert career counsellor and trainer, Prof. Chatterjee regularly conducts training sessions and workshops for leading corporates as well as professional and educational Institutes.

Dr. Rudra Prasad Saha

Officiating Dean School of Life Science & Biotechnology

A distinguished scholar with 14+ years of experience in teaching and research, Dr. Rudra Prasad Saha joined Adamas University as the Officiating Dean and HoD of the School of Life Science and Biotechnology. Dr. Saha completed his comprehensive post-doctoral research on host-virus relationships at the University of Texas at Austin, USA, and San Diego State University, USA, after earning his PhD in Biochemistry from Bose Institute (Jadavpur University), Kolkata.

Dr. Saha has published several research papers in high-impact international journals and presented his work in a number of national and international conferences around the world. His current research interests include protein-protein and protein-nucleic acid interactions, metal homeostasis in bacteria and metallo-regulation of transcription, bacteriophage-host interactions and development of a phage-based gene therapy system.

Through his outstanding academic, leadership and interpersonal skills combined with his inimitable teaching style, Dr. Saha looks forward to encouraging a competitive spirit among Adamas University students. He hopes this will foster a positive and healthy campus atmosphere while also equipping the students with the right skills to meet future challenges. Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sharma

Dean School of Engineering & Technology

Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sharma comes with more than 20 years of rich experience in teaching and research. His area of research includes Quality Management, Supply Chain, Project Based Learning, Industrial Engineering etc.

On the education front, he holds Ph. D degree in Supply Chain Management from NIT, Kurukshetra and M. Tech degree in Production Engineering from GNDEC, Ludhiana.

Prior to joining Adamas University, Dr. Sharma was associated with Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers as Advisor and Consultant-Academics, Innovation & Skill development. Earlier, he was associated with other organizations like The Assam Kaziranga University, The NorthCap University, CTIEMT, MPCT etc.

Dr. Sharma keeps interest in yoga, reading, travelling etc.

Dr. Shauli Mukherjee

Dean Students’ Affairs and Director, School of Education

With a purposeful career in the educational space spanning more than 20 years, Dr. Shauli Mukherjee has dedicated her life towards the promotion of child-centric and activity-oriented education. A passionate educationist with a background of setting up and leading new age K-12 schools, Dr. Mukherjee had been the Founder Principal of Adamas World School and STEM World School, the first STEM school in West Bengal. Under her inspiring leadership, STEM World School has been ranked the second best International Day School in West Bengal by Education World.

Dr. Mukherjee ardently believes that the purpose of meaningful education is to develop lifelong learners, creative thinkers and responsible global citizens who are confidently equipped to face the challenges of an uncertain and constantly unfolding future. All through her career in education, Dr. Mukherjee had actively contributed to and spearheaded the process of creating a personalised, engaging and stress-free curriculum for children of all age groups.
