In a splendid celebration of Founder’s Day, Adamas University organized Ekam, an event uniting students, faculty, and staff in a spirit of unity and festivity.

The festivities commenced with a parade featuring nominated students from all 10 schools of the university, weaving through the AWS (Adamas World School) field, Adamas Knowledge City, accompanied by the resonating melodies of the Ekam song. Ekam festivities at Adamas University span Tuesday to Thursday, featuring a literary extravaganza on January 9 and a sustainability exhibition on January 10. An intra-university sports meet was organised between January 8 and 10, 2024. The closing ceremony was held at AWS ground where the winners of Sports Meet and various other competitions were awarded.

On the evening of 11th January 2024 Adamas University, in collaboration with the Rice Group, organised a grand closing ceremony following the week-long celebration of Ekam at a city hotel The university felicitated some distinguished personalities with the Adamas Excellence Awards and Lifetime Achievement Awards who have made significant contributions to sports, healthcare, literature, and poetry. 

The event was graced by Sir Clive H. Lloyd, the renowned and former Guyanese cricketer who was bestowed with the Adamas Lifetime Achievement Award for his unparalleled contributions to the world of sports. Along with that, Dr. Sukumar Mukherjee, a renowned internal medicine specialist and rheumatologist; Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, a renowned author; Joy Goswami, an eminent poet; and Snehasish Ganguly, President, of the Cricket Association of Bengal, enhanced the extravaganza of the evening with their presence.

Dr. Sukumar Mukherjee was bestowed with the Adamas Excellence Award for his remarkable achievements in the healthcare sector, whereas Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay was honoured with the same for his notable contributions to literature. Joy Goswami was conferred with the Adamas Excellence Award for his impactful work in the world of poetry and Snehasish Ganguly for his outstanding contributions to sports.

The star-studded affair also had an array of activities, including a soulful performance by renowned artist Sourendro-Soumyojit. Moreover, the university felicitated the Khelo India winners from Adamas University, showcasing the institution’s commitment to nurturing and recognising exceptional talent.

The grand event was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Samit Ray, the Hon’ble Founder Chancellor of Adamas University. The highlight of the ceremony was the cutting of the largest Christmas court cake, a symbol of togetherness and shared happiness. Adamas University recently marked a significant milestone in its commitment to holistic education by once again organizing the Adamas Winter Camp 2023 inside its 120-acre lush green campus. This time the organization was across three different dates of November and December. These three editions of the educational extravaganza aimed at providing the high school students of West Bengal, with an unparalleled and immersive learning experience through emphasizing the cultivation of creativity, teamwork, and personal development.

Welcoming participants from a myriad of schools across the state, including esteemed institutions like Don Bosco, Kharagpur; Delhi Public School Kolkata, Kalyani Central Model School, Julien Day School, Rockvale Academy, Kalimpong, St. Anthony School, Kurseong, Methodist School, Dankuni, Kalyani Public School, Barasat, Agrasin Boy’s Howrah, The different Kendriya Vidyalayas only to name a few. The Winter Camp ensured a very diverse and enriching environment and a different learning experience for all attendees, which also included the key teachers from every school.

The camp was 2 day and 1-night stay at the Adamas Knowledge Campus. All the attendees stayed inside colourful tents to feel nature and be under the blue sky with a touch and feel of the green grass below their feet.  Alongside competitions, the 14 clubs of the University, which offer varied culinary art development activities, held competitions and displayed the hidden skills of the students which thrilled every student ensuring a delightful “feel good factor” for each attendee. It also went beyond traditional academic pursuits, offering invaluable career guidance to the participants. From a dynamic Karate workshop to an electrifying dance faceoff within the bonfire at night, a soulful recitation competition, and a harmonious music and dance competition, the Winter Camp catered to a wide range of interests. Exceptional performers in these activities were duly recognized with certifications, adding an extra layer of accomplishment to their experience.

At the epicentre of this transformative journey is the Global Bio-India 2023, a symposium orchestrated by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC). From December 4 to December 6, 2023, Global Bio-India 2023 held in New Delhi became the nucleus for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the unveiling of groundbreaking advancements in the biotech landscape.

The International Association of Universities (IAU) successfully concluded its 2023 International Conference at Qatar University, focusing on the theme “Higher Education with Impact: The Importance of Intercultural Learning and Dialogue.” Held from November 25 to 27, the conference provided a platform for global discussions on the crucial role universities play in fostering intercultural competence.

Universities, as melting pots of diverse perspectives, were hailed as key environments to cultivate intercultural understanding. The conference emphasized the significance of embracing diversity, fostering appreciation for differences, and preparing graduates for success in an interconnected world. This commitment to intercultural learning was seen as pivotal for nurturing values such as human rights, democracy, the rule of law, and the promotion of global peace.
