Adamas University received an award at the sixth industry-academia conclave for “Promising Private University for Academic Excellence in Eastern India 2023”.

Along with Adamas, more than 35 institutions in India, including IIT and IIMs, received awards for their contribution to Indian academics. This ceremony was organised by the Federation for World Academics and held in Delhi. 

The theme of this conclave was ‘Opportunities and Challenges in Technical Education: Implications on India, Post-G20-2023 Summit Success.’

T.G. Sitharam, Chairman, of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), was the chief guest of the conclave. The inaugural panel discussion was graced by Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIM Ahmedabad; Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar; and Shailendra Singh, IIM Lucknow.

In the ceremony, ChatGPT left everyone stunned by producing a Hindi poem on AICTE, showcasing AI’s swift prowess. Prof. Sitharam highlighted PM Modi’s Jan Bhagidari Initiative, emphasising India’s global strategic standing during the G20 Presidency.”

Adamas University signed an MoU with Kathmandu University on 4 November 2023 during the Higher Education Symposium 2023 event hosted by the Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal in collaboration with CII.

The memorandum was signed in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Samit Ray, Founder Chancellor, Adamas University, Prof. Shauvik Roy Chowdhury, Registrar, Adamas University and Prof. (Dr.) Bhola Thapa, Kathmandu University. 

Through this MoU, the University strives to facilitate joint research activities, innovations, workshops and seminars.

Adamas SA recently became champions of the Calcutta Football League 2023 2nd Division after a victory over Town Club.

Adamas SA recently became champions of the Calcutta Football League 2023 2nd Division after a victory over Town Club. The team not only secured the 2nd Division title but also ensured their promotion to the 1st Division for the upcoming season.

The Adamas SA team finished with a tally of 30 points and outshone their competitors with proper skill, determination, and teamwork.

The star of the team was Swarnadip Sangma, who showcased his talent and finesse on the field. He achieved the title of the highest scorer in the 2nd Division with 12 goals.

Dr. Chiranjib Chakravartty, a renowned professor in the School of Life Science and Biotechnology at Adamas University excels in the fields of Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Clinical Medicine. Meanwhile, Banani Kundu, an Assistant Professor at the same institution, has earned accolades for her work in Polymer and Biomedical Engineering. This recognition is based on data provided by Stanford University in the United States.

The Top 2% Scientist List, compiled annually by Stanford University in the USA, is a testament to the global impact of scientific research and innovation. It represents a distinguished collection of scientists from various disciplines who have made significant contributions to their respective fields.

The spirit of culinary innovation and entrepreneurship took centre stage at Adamas University on September 22, 2023, as the E-YUVA Centre, in collaboration with the School of Life Science & Biotechnology, organized an event titled ‘Innovative, Healthy, and Functional Foods: An Entrepreneurship Development Workshop’. This unique workshop aimed to nurture creativity in food science, and culinary arts, and ignite the entrepreneurial spark among the youth of the region.

The event witnessed the presence of Mr. Indrajit Lahiri, affectionately known as ‘Food-ka,’ a renowned entrepreneur, food activist, and popular YouTuber and content creator. Alongside him were esteemed guests, including Prof. Naveen Das, Pro Vice Chancellor of Adamas University, Dr. Rudraprasad Saha, Dean of the School of Life Science and Biotechnology, and Dr. Saptarshi Chatterjee, Associate Director of Incubation at Adamas University.

Twenty-two enthusiastic teams enthusiastically showcased their culinary prowess by preparing and selling ‘innovative foods’ during the workshop. This hands-on experience not only allowed participants to generate revenue but also provided valuable insights into the intricate world of entrepreneurship. The fusion of science, art, and business received widespread appreciation from guests, speakers, and representatives from both the academic and business communities.

The participants were evaluated on various aspects of their creations, and several awards were presented to recognize their outstanding contributions. The ‘Best Innovative Food’ award, judged based on taste and aesthetic appeal, celebrated the fusion of creativity and flavour. The ‘Best Scientific Content’ award, determined through poster presentations, acknowledged the participants’ commitment to the nutritional and scientific aspects of their creations. Lastly, the ‘Best Start-up’ award honoured the teams that demonstrated the most promising business acumen.

Adamas University and The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) have officially inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to usher in a new era of academic collaboration and global learning opportunities.

This collaboration will help students of both Universities to engage in a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities aimed at fostering leadership skills. Also, diverse internationalization strategies will be implemented for student exchange programs across various academic disciplines. Also, there will be credit exchange opportunities for students to facilitate academic collaboration and mobility and faculty exchange initiatives will facilitate cross-cultural collaboration.

This partnership opens doors to limitless opportunities, fostering a rich learning experience for all.

In a spectacular display of skill and determination, India’s women’s shooting trio comprising Ramita, Ashi Chouksey, and the star of the hour, Mehuli Ghosh, secured the silver medal at the prestigious Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou. This remarkable achievement not only brought immense pride to the nation but also marked India’s first medal in the event.

Mehuli Ghosh, a distinguished B.A. (Hons) Education student from the School of Education, emerged as the shining star of the trio. Her impeccable precision and unwavering focus played a pivotal role in securing the silver with a combined score of 1886.0. The trio’s performance was nothing short of extraordinary, captivating the hearts of fans and supporters across the country.

Mehuli, who has been balancing her academic pursuits with rigorous training, exemplifies the spirit of dedication and excellence. Her success serves as an inspiration to countless young athletes and students alike, showcasing the possibilities of excelling in both sports and academics.

Inspiring the students to understand themselves and their triggers compassionately; Empowering them with the knowledge that “you are not alone;” Building a sense of community and Instilling Gentle Strength, are few of the things this “hopeful initiative” aims to achieve.

Bengal’s Academic Powerhouses Unite: Kalyani Innovation Network Launches during E-YUVA’s conclave at Adamas*

Adamas University hosted the ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conclave 2023’ on 17th August 2023, Thursday. Organised by the E-YUVA Centre, Adamas University, supported by BIRAC, a Govt. of India Enterprise, the 2-day event aims to bridge the gap between innovation and academia within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The conclave was held at the university, bringing together stakeholders including innovators, startups, government enablers, and funding agencies under one academic roof. The second day of the conference is scheduled for Friday, August 18th.

Esteemed dignitaries, including Prof. (Dr.) Samit Ray, Chancellor, Adamas University; Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Das, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Training, Placement and Corporate Relations), Adamas University; Dr. Subhra Ranjan Chakrabarti, Director (Operations) BIRAC; Dr. Manish Diwan, Head SPED Division BIRAC; and D. Mitra, Joint Director, MSME, Govt. of India, graced the event.

Except for them, Dr. Chhaya Chowhan, Sr. Manager Incubation, BIRAC; Raveesh Malik, Asst. Manager (Biotech and Pharma), Invest India; Prof. Nahid Ali, Raja Ramanna Fellow, J.C. Bose Fellow, CSIR-IICB, joined the conclave too.

The ‘Innovation and Start-up Expo’ showcased innovative ventures, startups, and initiatives by academic institutions, NGOs, and artisans from West Bengal districts. Over 30 academic institutions and schools, along with renowned universities, research centres, and funding agencies, participated and fostered a conducive ecosystem for budding entrepreneurs.

The launch of the KIN (Kalyani Innovation Network), a collaborative initiative by seven higher education institutions, including Adamas University, IISER Kolkata, IIIT Kalyani, Kalyani University, MAKAUT, BCKV, AIIMS Kalyani to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth of West Bengal, was the main highlight of the conclave.

Prof. Samit Ray, Chancellor, of Adamas University, said “the ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conclave 2023’ resonates with our commitment to bridge academia and entrepreneurship. Together, we sculpt a future where knowledge breeds ingenuity, and young minds lead us to prosperity. The Director (Operations), of BIRAC, Dr. Subhra Ranjan Chakrabarti stated ‘in this generation, it is essential not only to look for work opportunities but also to create work chances. Otherwise, we will face obstacles on the path of establishing new industries. Therefore, fostering  innovation is crucial for individuals to become industrious and inclined towards industries.’
