Adamas University hosted the ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conclave 2023’ on 17th August 2023, Thursday. Organised by the E-YUVA Centre, Adamas University, supported by BIRAC, a Govt. of India Enterprise, the 2-day event aims to bridge the gap between innovation and academia within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The conclave was held at the university, bringing together stakeholders including innovators, startups, government enablers, and funding agencies under one academic roof. The second day of the conference is scheduled for Friday, August 18th.
Esteemed dignitaries, including Prof. (Dr.) Samit Ray, Chancellor, Adamas University; Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Das, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Training, Placement and Corporate Relations), Adamas University; Dr. Subhra Ranjan Chakrabarti, Director (Operations) BIRAC; Dr. Manish Diwan, Head SPED Division BIRAC; and D. Mitra, Joint Director, MSME, Govt. of India, graced the event.
Except for them, Dr. Chhaya Chowhan, Sr. Manager Incubation, BIRAC; Raveesh Malik, Asst. Manager (Biotech and Pharma), Invest India; Prof. Nahid Ali, Raja Ramanna Fellow, J.C. Bose Fellow, CSIR-IICB, joined the conclave too.
The ‘Innovation and Start-up Expo’ showcased innovative ventures, startups, and initiatives by academic institutions, NGOs, and artisans from West Bengal districts. Over 30 academic institutions and schools, along with renowned universities, research centres, and funding agencies, participated and fostered a conducive ecosystem for budding entrepreneurs.
The launch of the KIN (Kalyani Innovation Network), a collaborative initiative by seven higher education institutions, including Adamas University, IISER Kolkata, IIIT Kalyani, Kalyani University, MAKAUT, BCKV, AIIMS Kalyani to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth of West Bengal, was the main highlight of the conclave.

The Director (Operations), of BIRAC, Dr. Subhra Ranjan Chakrabarti stated ‘in this generation, it is essential not only to look for work opportunities but also to create work chances. Otherwise, we will face obstacles on the path of establishing new industries. Therefore, fostering innovation is crucial for individuals to become industrious and inclined towards industries.’
