Adamas University Brings the Largest Team from East India to the 3rd Khelo India Games | Updates

The 3rd Khelo India Games is being held at Lucknow and Delhi. Adamas University is bringing the largest ever team from East India to Khelo India games.

The highly anticipated 3rd Khelo India Games kicked off in Lucknow from May 23rd, 2023 at Babu Banarasi Das U.P. Badminton Academy. Adamas University has assembled the most extensive team ever from East India to compete in the Khelo India Games. With an impressive count of 93 members, including 77 talented students alongside dedicated trainers and managers, we are the 10th largest team in the nation!

Adamas University signs an MOU with Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India

What a moment of pride for the entire #Adamas family! We feel glad to share that under the latest IIRF Rankings 2023

We are happy to announce that an MOU has been inked with the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India on 12th April 2023, at New Delhi in the august presence of Shri Gajendra Singh Sekhawat, Hon’ble Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Dr. T.G.Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE & Shri G. Ashok Kumar, Director General, NMCG, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Govt of India for NAMAMI GANGE project.

This is a flagship project aimed at rejuvenating the Ganga River and its tributaries, which is recognized by the United Nations as one of the top ten World Restoration Flagship Projects. By signing the MOU, Adamas University will contribute to this important project and gain valuable knowledge and experience in the process.

Overall, this collaboration between Adamas University and the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India for the NAMAMI GANGE project is a positive step towards achieving the goal of rejuvenating the Ganga River and promoting sustainable development in the region.

Adamas University hosted its two-day official annual youth festival, “ADINOVA 2023”

Adamas University hosted its two-day official annual youth festival, “ADINOVA 2023” at Knowledge City, Barasat Campus on 27th & 28th February 2023. More than 50 colleges and universities, as well as 3000 students, took part in this event.
The well-known bands Borno Anonyo, and Waves in Town performed on the first day of the fest and enthralled the audience. On day 2, band Lokkhi Chara and Sukalyann D Entourage had put the stage on fire with their awesome performances.
 

Adamas University has made significant contributions to society through its achievements in the field of education. Apart from the regular competitions, ADINOVA introduced various inter-college competitions like BIOSCOPE- short film making competition, MAGIQUILL- creative writing, VOXPOP- Debate, INQUISITIVE- quiz, SOUND OF MUSIC-

musical event, PUNCHLINE- stand-up comedy competition, which were part of this event. In addition to this, the ARD-U-KNOW V4.0- scientific model making competition and the TATHA THAIYA- classical group dance competition mesmerized the audience.

Eastern India’s first CENTRE FOR STEM CELL BIOLOGY AND REGENERATIVE MEDICINE at Adamas University

Subhash Mukhopadhyay Centre for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (SMC-SCBRM)

Subhash Mukhopadhyay Centre for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (SMC-SCBRM) was inaugurated recently by Nobel laureate Prof. Ada Yonath in presence of Dr. Samit Ray, Chancellor, Adamas University on 4th February 2023. 
 
The Centre is the first in eastern India dedicated to research on stem cells and regenerative sciences have been named after Dr. Subhash Mukhopadhyay who pioneered the utilization of hormone (Gonadotrophin) to stimulate ovulation, the use of Posterior Colpotomy technique over laparoscopy, Cryo-preservation of the embryo following IVF, and to implant the embryo in the natural menstrual cycle when the uterus is maximum.
The centre is linked with National Genomics Core, and NIBMG, as well as collaborated with institutes like AIIMS, IISc, NCBS, Harvard University, European Molecular Biology Laboratory, Northwestern University, University of California, Missouri State University and others. The Start-up Research Grants funded projects of around 60 lakhs INR, and Science and Engineering Research Board, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
 

SMC-SCBRM constituted the Institutional Committee for Stem Cell Research registered with ICMR and has access to embryonic stem cell lines from Cambridge UK, approved by the Stem cell Steering Committee, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.

The 6th convocation ceremony of Adamas University was held on 4th February 2023 to confer degrees and medals were awarded to the students for their educational excellence.
 
Nobel Laureate crystallographer Prof. (Dr.) Ada E. Yonath adorned the chair of the chief guest and delivered the convocation address. She is the current director of the Helen and Milton A. Kimmelman Center for Biomolecular Structure and Assembly of the Weizmann Institute of Science. Other guests who attended the inauguration ceremony are Dr. Bhaskar Saha, Indian Immunologist; Dr. Binayak Sen, Pediatrician and Vice-President of the PUCL, India; Dr. Ramji Singh, ED, CEO & Professor of Physiology of AIIMS, Kalyani; Prof. (Dr.) Saikat Maitra, Vice-Chancellor of MAKAUT; Prof. Sumantra Chatterji, Senior Professor at NCBS; Prof. (Dr.) Suranjan Das, Vice-Chancellor, Jadavpur University; and Mr. Bruce Adams & Mr. Jack Adams, Directors of Adamas Cricket Academy.
Prof. (Dr.) Samit Roy, Chancellor, Adamas University told that the university collaborates with national and international universities, organizations, and institutions to facilitate global exposure and knowledge of the academic and corporate world. He laid emphasis on looking forward to making Adamas University a 24×7 active and happening campus with varied student-faculty engagement programmes. Prof. Samit Roy further told that besides, having an exclusive placement team under Career Development Cell in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, plans are afoot to expand their placement cells in Dubai, the UK, Australia, and Canada shortly.
 

Prof. (Dr.) Suranjan Das and Prof. (Dr.) Saikat Maitra spoke on the occasion followed by the Chief guest Prof. (Dr.) Ada E. Yonath. Later on, the Gold & Silver medals and Ph.D. degree recipient receive their awards and their degrees were handed over by the chief guest Prof. (Dr.) Ada E. Yonath. Yonath has created history by winning the Nobel Prize as the first Israeli woman, the first woman from the Middle East to win a Nobel Prize in the sciences, and the first woman in 45 years to win the Nobel Prize for Chemistry.

The 6th Convocation of Adamas University is scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 4th 2023, in offline mode, at the University Campus (Adamas Knowledge City, Barrackpore-Barasat Rd, 24 Parganas North, Jagannathpur, Kolkata – 700126).

Degrees will be conferred to all the eligible students who have successfully completed their programs in the year 2022, and the PhD students registered with Adamas University and have defended/would be defending their PhD viva-voce examination successfully on or before January 4th 2023. Students successfully completing Diploma in Pharmacy program in the year 2022, will also be conferred Diploma Certificates.

Apart from other dignitaries, Prof. (Dr.) Ada E. Yonath, recipient of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in the year 2009, will be gracing the occasion.

This year, over 1036 Bachelor’s, Master’s and the PhD degrees are expected to be awarded.
