Adamas University was most happy to welcome and host Prof. Janice Grant, International Manaer South Asia & Thailand (Abertay University) on 30.03.2017.
Janice is currently working as the International Officer at Abertay University, Dundee, United Kingdom. She did her Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from University of Dundee and Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management (HRM) from Abertay University. Her schooling was with Dame Allens School.
Adamas University recently collaborated with some of the well-known educational institutes and universities in the Southeast Asia region. The institutions include, Fortrust Education-Philippines, Far Eastern University (FEU)- Philippines & AAA Education Consulting Limited (Vietnam) that will support Adamas University in the areas of R&D activities, Student/Faculty Exchange Programs and Placements.
Adamas University is going to host a delegation headed by Dr. Asha Chand, Associate Dean, International, Professor of School of Humanities and Communication Arts, Western Sydney University and Dr. Kalika Navin Doloswala, Professor of School of Humanities and Communication Arts, Western Sydney University, from 31st October to 16th November, 2018. This delegation consists of 19 students and faculty members from the Western Sydney University, who shall interact with students, academia and management of ADAMAS University to get better knowledge, insights and experiences of the Indian education system, Indian culture and economic development processes. The 2 Universities also plan to launch joint academic and research programs.
Adamas University collaborated with some of the well-known universities in the Mongolia. Adamas University invited a host of eminent academicians from Mongolian State University of Education, Mongolian University of Life Sciences, Mongolian University of Science and Technology and National University of Mongolia. This initiative will remarkably boost the University’s global reach with the view to provide learning platform that matches international standards.
A series of meetings aimed at international collaborations were conducted during the strategic tour of France where Prof. Samit Ray-Chancellor, Adamas University and Dr. Parimal Chandra Biswas met officials and senior executives of high-ranking universities of France.
Adamas University students attends Summer Programme in Far Eastern University, Manila, Philippines.
Three students of Adamas University embarked on a journey to Philippines and were privileged to attend the Summer Programme in Far Eastern University, which was held on April 23-28, 2018. Students came back home from Philippines with valuable experience, new learnings and new friends. Here students share their experiences and benefits of the programme.
Mr. Debapriya Dasgupta, BBA student says that the Summer Program that was held at Far Eastern University turned out to be the best Educational and Cultural trip that we have ever had. Students and other University staff there made us feel like family. They were really hospitable. They cared for us to such an extent that we barely felt that we were not at home.
Mr. Souvik Malakar, BBA comments that the trip was vibrant. The atmosphere was amazing and was far beyond what I had imagined. Their attitude towards visitors from another country was very heart-warming. The food was fantastic.
Mr. Shivam Mukherjee, B.Com adds that the summer program has been very fruitful for us . Well, the campus and infrastructure out there for us was beyond our expectations. Our special thanks to Dr. Myrna Quinto, Vice President and Ms. Leah Ballares, International Programme Coordinator of Far Eastern University. We also thank Dr. Parimal Chandra Biswas and Adamas University for arranging this wonderful trip.
Adamas University in its 2nd year of operation is sending students to foreign universities for short term study trips. Two students Tathagata Kayal, M.Sc., Biotechnology, 1st year and Risov Pal, B.Tech, CSE, 1st year went to Genoa University, Genoa, Italy. Two students Chandan Mitra, MBA, 1st year and Prasenjit Das, BBA, 1st year went to Kiev National Economic University, Kiev, Ukraine on 22nd April for 1 week.
These trips are partly funded by Adamas University where the main purpose of the same is that the students should have an overview of how studies are conducted in a foreign university and how different study culture is in other countries.
Every class we have to take part in presentations in each & every class. They are finding study process and structure very different, classes more joyful, and after every lecture the faculty separates students in different groups to solve a case study or to create a competition on same task between randomly selected groups. Students need to go prepared with presentation in every class. The AU students are getting special treatment for being the first Indian students at this University. The food, culture, history, studies all put together students are having a life changing experience.
Adamas University participated and represented India in a Educational Seminar in Vietnam. AU representative also visited many schools in Vietnam.
The event was a huge success with having more than 200 footfalls in the Adamas University stall through-out the day. Students flocked into the AU stall and enquired a lot about the different schools and courses which they provide. Adamas University forayed into Vietnam for the first time and the same has been an instant success.
The Department of English and Bengali, School of Social Science, Adamas University jointly organized an International Workshop on “Creative Writing and Creative Thinking” / “সৃজনশীল লিখন ও সৃজনশীল চিন্তন” on 5th April, 2017 (Wednesday). Eminent speakers like Professor Bashabi Fraser, Professor Neil Fraser; Professor Pabitra Sarkar, Professor Krishna Basu participated and graced the occasion.
Collaborations Between Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest (Hungary) And Adamas University, Kolkata (India).
On 1st November, 2017 the MOU between EötvösLoránd University and Adamas University was signed by prof. Samit Ray, Chancellor and founding Chairman of Adamas University in presence of the Board Members of Adamas University. EötvösLoránd University was represented by Prof. Dr. Prónai Csaba, Vice-Dean, Foreign Affairs, Faculty of Social Sciences.
EötvösLoránd University (ELTE) is the oldest and the largest public research university in Hungary. It is the most popular and prestigious higher education institution in the country. The university takes proud of five Nobel Laureates among itsalumni and teachers.
Adamas University hosted Dr. Prónai Csaba from 26th October till 2nd November, 2017. During his short stay at Adamas University he delivered valuable life changing seminars and workshops for students and faculty members of the School of Social Sciences. They were exposed to deep knowledge and insights of prof. Dr. Prónai Csaba blended with his huge personal experiences. This sharing of expertise and frequent informal interactions by Prof. Csaba with students and faculty members of Adamas University will have long lasting impact in their hearts and minds. Dr. Prónai Csaba found the time to have discussions with representatives of Barasat Municipality, Kolkata to explore the opportunities for collaborative works and programs with the municipality.
Visit of Dr. Prónai Csaba greatly promoted to strengthening good relations between two universities and people of two great nations. Dr. Prónai Csaba commented, “Though Adamas University is young, I believe in the bright prospect of the university. The university has a very good start. Though our university is old, huge and prestigious we may learn many good things from Adamas University. Students here are open and curious to learn new things.
