B.Sc. Environmental Science (Discontinued from 2025)
B.Sc. (Environmental Science) program under NEP guidelines
Introduction to the Program:
The four-year B.Sc. Environmental Science program, aligned with the NEP 2020 guidelines, offers a multidisciplinary curriculum that provides a robust foundation in ecological interactions, sustainable resource management, climate change, environmental pollution control, and nature-based solutions.
In the final year, students can choose between two specialized pathways:
- With Research: Engage in a research project addressing real-world environmental issues.
- Without Non-Research: Focus on advanced coursework and practical skills tailored for careers in environmental sectors.
With an emphasis on ESG frameworks, sustainability, and climate resilience, the program prepares graduates for careers in international organizations, NGOs, research institutions, government agencies, and private industries. Career opportunities include roles such as pollution control analyst, climate change consultant, ESG and sustainability analyst, and positions in UPSC Indian Forest Services (IFS), State Forest Services, and pollution control boards.
The curriculum incorporates hands-on fieldwork, industry internships, seminars, and specialized courses to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This program empowers graduates to contribute meaningfully to environmental management, policy-making, conservation, and higher studies, enabling them to lead impactful change in the global fight for sustainability.
