M.Sc. (Chemistry)

Minimum 50% aggregate in 10+2 or equivalent examination and Minimum 50% aggregate in Undergraduate degree in respective subject from any recognized University in India or abroad

2 Years

Introduction to the Program: M.Sc. in Chemistry is a two-year postgraduate programme designed to impart comprehensive knowledge and mastery in Chemistry with flexibility and choices. The two-year MSc programme in Chemistry gives a student the necessary skills for participating in research groups or for the independent leadership and management of complex work and development situations within the field. You can choose between these three specializations: Organic Synthesis, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry. The Master of Science in Chemistry embeds a student in one of our cutting-edge chemistry research groups with world-leaders in areas such as molecular analysis, drug discovery, materials science, sustainable energy and nanotechnology. A Masters degree is also a gateway to all other types of post-graduate work, including a Doctoral degree in the field. Additionally, postgraduate students in chemistry often have access to equipment and facilities that are not available to those doing undergraduate work.
PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOME (PSO): PSO 01: Postgraduate will encompass noteworthy opportunities in various service domains both at national and international level, and can work as scientist, analyst at testing facilities/labs, quality controller in production industries, academics, research laboratories etc. PSO 02: To cultivate in –depth knowledge in Organic chemistry, Inorganic chemistry, Physical chemistry, Analytical chemistry, Spectroscopy, Pharmaceutical technique etc. PSO 03: Students will acquire deep knowledge in the study of physical, chemical, electrochemical and magnetic properties, structure elucidation using various sophisticated techniques and their applications to study various organic and inorganic materials. PSO 04: Students will imbibe research acumen and inculcate innovative thinking so as to become a good researcher/academician as well as will perk up analytical and logical capability so as to import the ability to solve new and complex problems. PSO 05: Postgraduate students will be able to communicate effectively the scientific information and research results in written and oral formats, to both professional scientists and to the public.
