The weeklong parallel Residential Training Programmes on Laboratory and Library Practices for School Librarians and School Laboratory Assistants from the Kingdom of Bhutan commenced on 26th May 2025 at Adamas Knowledge City, Kolkata. Nominated by the Ministry of Education and Skills Development, Royal Government of Bhutan, the participating school professionals have been recognized for their dedication to advancing educational excellence in the region.
The inaugural session, SRIJAN, was formally inaugurated by Mr. Namgay Thinley, Hon'ble Trade Consul of Royal Bhutanese Consulate in Kolkata and Mr. Thupten Tshering, Hon'ble Health Attache of Royal Bhutanese Consulate in Kolkata, whose inspiring address marked a significant moment in fostering meaningful cross-border educational collaboration. The occasion was further graced by Prof. (Dr.) Suranjan Das, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Adamas University, whose thoughtful presence and address set an engaging and reflective tone for the programme.
Led by Prof. (Dr.) Shauli Mukherjee, Dean – School of Education and Dean – International Relations, the first day featured parallel hands-on sessions for school librarians and laboratory assistants. Librarians explored AI integration and modern cataloguing through interactive workshops, while lab assistants engaged in practical training on lab safety and virtual laboratory applications.
