Introduction to the Program:

The 2 year Master degree program in Geography consists of four semesters and offers advanced courses on Geography including Applied Geomorphology, Applied Environmental Geography, Advanced Quantitative Techniques, Advanced Geoinformatics, Regional Planning and Development etc. Independent dissertation project under the guidance of the advisor updates the students about the recent development in Geography and related fields. Advanced Environmental Geography, Applied Geomorphology and Hazard, Urban and Regional Planning, Hydro-meteorology and Remote sensing and GIS are the specializations that we offer to our masters’ students. Emphasis is given to skill development through laboratory training. This program consists of four types, of course, i.e. Core courses, Discipline Specific Electives, Generic Elective and Skill Enhancement courses. Population and Settlement Geography, Resource Geography, Agricultural Geography and Urban Geography are few specializations offered to the undergraduate students.
