Adamas University hosts EKAM Founder’s Day: UNITY, DIVERSITY, AND FESTIVITY

In a splendid celebration of Founder's Day, Adamas University organized Ekam, an event uniting students, faculty, and staff in a spirit of unity and festivity.

The festivities commenced with a parade featuring nominated students from all 10 schools of the university, weaving through the AWS (Adamas World School) field, Adamas Knowledge City, accompanied by the resonating melodies of the Ekam song. Ekam festivities at Adamas University span Tuesday to Thursday, featuring a literary extravaganza on January 9 and a sustainability exhibition on January 10. An intra-university sports meet was organised between January 8 and 10, 2024. The closing ceremony was held at AWS ground where the winners of Sports Meet and various other competitions were awarded.

On the evening of 11th January 2024 Adamas University, in collaboration with the Rice Group, organised a grand closing ceremony following the week-long celebration of Ekam at a city hotel The university felicitated some distinguished personalities with the Adamas Excellence Awards and Lifetime Achievement Awards who have made significant contributions to sports, healthcare, literature, and poetry. 

The event was graced by Sir Clive H. Lloyd, the renowned and former Guyanese cricketer who was bestowed with the Adamas Lifetime Achievement Award for his unparalleled contributions to the world of sports. Along with that, Dr. Sukumar Mukherjee, a renowned internal medicine specialist and rheumatologist; Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, a renowned author; Joy Goswami, an eminent poet; and Snehasish Ganguly, President, of the Cricket Association of Bengal, enhanced the extravaganza of the evening with their presence.

Dr. Sukumar Mukherjee was bestowed with the Adamas Excellence Award for his remarkable achievements in the healthcare sector, whereas Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay was honoured with the same for his notable contributions to literature. Joy Goswami was conferred with the Adamas Excellence Award for his impactful work in the world of poetry and Snehasish Ganguly for his outstanding contributions to sports.

The star-studded affair also had an array of activities, including a soulful performance by renowned artist Sourendro-Soumyojit. Moreover, the university felicitated the Khelo India winners from Adamas University, showcasing the institution's commitment to nurturing and recognising exceptional talent.

This ceremony marked a significant contribution to the festivities of Adamas University's Founder's Day, Ekam—a celebration of unity and festivity among students, faculty, and staff. This event is also celebrating the Hon'ble Founder and Chancellor of Adamas University Prof. (Dr.) Samit Ray four-decade legacy in the education field.
