The Adamas University Bill which was passed by the West Bengal State Legislative Assembly on 20th February 2014 in the form of The Adamas University Act, 2014 (West Bengal Act IV of 2014) has been assented by the Governor of West Bengal and has been published in the Kolkata Gazette, Extraordinary of 28th March 2014.

In the terms of Section 1 Sub Section (3) of The Adamas University Act, 2014, the Act shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint. The Secretary, Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal, vide Notification No. 398-Edn(U)/OM-15L/2013, dated 11th April 2014, notified that the Governor of West Bengal, by exercising the powers conferred on him, under Sub Section (3) of Section 1 of The Adamas University Act, 2014 (West Bengal Act IV of 2014), has appointed 11th April 2014 as the date from which the provisions of The Adamas University Act, 2014 will come into effect.

Recognition of University Grants Commission (UGC)

Adamas University has been recognized and enlisted by UGC as competent to award degrees under Section 22 of UGC Act, 1956.

Bar Council of India (BCI) Approval of the Law Courses

Bar Council of India (BCI) vide letter No. BCI:D:1077/2015(LE) dated 21.06.2015 has extended its Recognition to Adamas University and Approval of Affiliation to the Faculty of Law, Adamas University for imparting 5 year B.A.LL.B (Honours) and 5 year BBA. LL.B (Honours) courses.

PCI Approval for B. Pharm

Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has approved Conduction of 4 year B. Pharm Course and 2 year D. Pharm Course of Adamas University under the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology up to Academic Session 2017-18. The decisions has been taken in 278/EC, July 2017.

Recognition as a Scientific and Industrial research Organisation (SIRO)

Adamas University has been recognised as a Scientific and Industrial research Organisation (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research under the Scheme on Recognition of Scientific and Industrial Research Organisations (SIROs), 1988 from 28.06.2019 upto 31.03.2022.
