Prof. Snehamanju Basu

Dr. Snehamanju Basu has made significant contributions to academia and administration throughout her career. She began her academic journey at Lal Baba College, where she established the Department of Geography and initiated the honours program as its sole faculty member. In 1999, she joined Kalinagar Mahavidyalaya as an Assistant Professor, where she again played a pivotal role in founding the geography honours course and advancing the institution’s academic development.

Since 2001, Dr. Basu has been associated with Lady Brabourne College. She was instrumental in launching the postgraduate department in geography in 2003, which she developed into an Advanced Research Centre in 2014. Under her guidance, the department flourished, and she began mentoring Ph.D. scholars in 2013. During her tenure, she took on various administrative roles, including Teacher-in-Charge and Officer in Charge, and organized the first workshop on the CBCS curriculum in collaboration with the UG Council of the University of Calcutta.

In 2018, Dr. Basu broke new ground by becoming the first female Registrar at Jadavpur University, where she continues her commitment to academic excellence. Her scholarly contributions include authoring and editing books, publishing numerous research papers, presenting at national and international conferences, and serving on several academic committees and governing bodies in West Bengal.

Dr. Basu is an active member of esteemed organizations such as the Geographical Society of India (GSI), Indian National Cartographic Association (INCA), and the International Geographical Congress (IGC) on Globalization, Marginalization, Regional and Local Responses, among others. Her dynamic leadership and academic expertise have significantly influenced the field of geography and the institutions she has served

Dr. Radha Tamal Goswami

Dr. Radha Tamal Goswami holds a PhD (Technology) from BIT Mesra, Ranchi, and has been conferred a D.Litt (Honoris Causa) along with a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR), Spain. With 29 years of experience across academics, research, and administration, he has previously served as Director at Techno International New Town (Techno India Group) and as Professor (CSE) and Director at BIT Mesra, Kolkata Campus.

His expertise spans Network Security, Big Data Analytics, Pattern Recognition, Cryptography, and Bioinformatics. He has guided numerous UG, PG, and PhD scholars, published around 70 research papers in reputed international journals, and chaired several national and international conferences. He is a visiting faculty at leading institutions and a senior member of ACM, IEEE, CSI, NIPM, and ISTD, while also serving on academic and governing bodies in India and abroad.

His interests extend to sports, drama, music, professional networking, and social outreach initiatives.

Sri Partha Pratim Lahiri

SRI PARTHA PRATIM LAHIRI, M Sc, Ph D

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration and Development).

Born in 1964, he obtained M Sc degree in Physics with specialization in Electronics (1989), and a doctorate degree in Science (Physics), 1993. He is an experienced professional with sound experience in the field of Academic Administration, Teaching and Research in the field of Applied Sciences.

His area of research expertise includes the fields of Microwaves, mm-Wave and Optical Communications, Nonlinear Oscillations, Microwave Receivers / Discriminators / Detectors, Phased Lock Loop (PLL), DSP-DPLL, Active patch antennas, Phased-array microstrip antennas, and in the connected fields of electronic communications

He has published nearly forty-five research publications in journals and conferences of national and international reputes. He has written many popular articles in the field of science and technology both in Bengali and English. He has also written a book named, “Prajukti”, in Bengali (2025). He is the recipient URSI (International Union of Radio Sciences) Young Scientist Award (1993), and K S Krishnan Memorial Award, IETE, India (1995). He has active research experiences for more than twelve years and teaching experience (M Tech and M Sc courses) of more than twenty years in Burdwan University and Jadavpur University, both in West Bengal.

From July-2002, he shifted to Academic Administration and served as Deputy Registrar, Joint Registrar and Registrar (Acting) in Jadavpur University and Registrar, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal for seven years and three months.

In 2003, he participated in Academia Syria (Aleppo, Syria) as a member of the Indian delegation (selected by the University grants Commission, New Delhi) as a part of its flagship program, “Internationalization of Indian Higher Education Abroad” and as a delegate to attend ‘Erasmus Mundus’ program in Islamabad (Pakistan), 2015, and Middle East Technical University, Ankara (Turkey), 2018.
