About the Program:
The Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) is a 3-years Undergraduate Degree program offered by the department. The program carries UGC approved CBCS syllabus. There are total 6 semesters which are distributed as 2 semesters per year. In Semesters 5 and 6, students are allowed to take their choice courses out of the offered set of electives. At present, students are allowed to take any one of the three elective areas, e.g., Accountancy, Marketing and Capital Markets. The program leads to multiple avenues to pursue different career options including Professional Accountant, Management Accountant, Tax Consultant, Marketing Professional, Investment Advisor and many more. It also provides an excellent grounding for all professional studies. The program enjoys the support of Career Development Cell (CDC) for Placement, Career counselling and personality development.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
PEO 01: To generate a holistic concept before the students on Trade and Commerce.
PEO 02: To develop the students with in-depth skills on Accounting and Management Accounting.
PEO 03: To acquaint the students with specific Trade and Commerce practices including Taxation, Auditing, Law, BFSI, Entrepreneurship and Management.
PEO 04: To impart specialised knowledge to the students on various facets of Accounting and Management Accounting or Marketing or Capital Markets.
PEO 05: To provide with the concepts and analytical skills to the students for participation in the decision making process of business execution and research.
Program Outcomes (POs)
PO1: Holistic overview on Trade and Commerce - Students will acquaint with the different facets of Trade and Commerce.
PO2: Expertise in Accounting and Management Accounting - Students will acquire expertise on Accounting and Management Accounting.
PO3: Specific Trade and Commerce practices - Students will develop knowledge on specific Trade and Commerce practices including Taxation, Auditing, Law, BFSI, Entrepreneurship and Management.
PO4: Knowledge on BIFS - Students will acquire specialised knowledge to the students on various facets of Accounting and Management Accounting or Marketing or Capital Markets.
PO5: Analytical skills for Decision Making and Research - Students will develop analytical skills for participation in the decision making process of business execution and research.
Eligibility
Minimum 55% aggregate in 10 +2 or equivalent from any recognized board.
Duration (in Year): 4 (with exit option after 3 years as per NEP guidelines).
