D.Pharm
D. Pharm is a two-year diploma program in Pharmacy for practising as a registered Pharmacist. On completion of the program the students gain the basic knowledge of preparation, dispensing, drug actions and therapeutic uses of synthetic and herbal drugs. The program provides opportunities to work as Hospital Pharmacist/Drug Store Officer in Government and private hospitals. Other job opportunities include Drug Analyst in Government sector, Project Assistants in various State/Central Govt. Schemes, Marketing Executive/ Production Operators in Pharmaceutical Companies and as Laboratory Technician in Govt./Private Institutions. D. Pharm candidates can also pursue higher education through lateral entry to 2nd year B. Pharm course.
Eligibility
- Candidate applying for admission should individually pass marks in Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics/Biotechnology/Biology in 10+2 Level.
- Any other qualification approved by the PCI as equivalent to the above examination.
- Candidate should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the course.
Admission Procedure
Admission of candidates to the Diploma in Pharmacy Part – I shall be made in order of merit list of the AU admission test. The candidate must meet the eligibility criteria.
Summer School / Winter School / Projects
After appearing in the Diploma in Pharmacy Part-II examination a student shall be eligible to undergo internship/practical training in one or more of the following institutions such as: Hospitals/Dispensaries run by Central/State Gov., A Pharmacy, Chemist, Druggist licensed under the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 made under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940(23 of 194) and Drugs manufacturing Unit licensed under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 & rules made there under.
