Adamas University recently forged a collaboration agreement with Paro College of Education, Royal University of Bhutan, from April 17th to 19th, 2024. The agreement aims to facilitate immersive cultural and educational ventures and establish the first-of-its-kind Centre of Excellence on Happiness in the Eastern region of India, marking a unique initiative as a joint collaborative initiative between Adamas University and Paro College of Education Bhutan.
During the visit, esteemed figures in education, Dr. Dorji Thinley, President, and Dr. Kezang Sherab, Dean of Research and Industrial Linkages from Paro College of Education, Royal University of Bhutan, engaged in discussions with Adamas University's leadership, including Prof. (Dr.) Samit Ray, the Chancellor, and Prof. (Dr.) Suranjan Das, the Vice-Chancellor. The talks focused on potential areas of collaboration and academic exchanges, emphasizing joint research initiatives for knowledge advancement, and fostering innovation.
Further, a meeting between Bhutanese delegates and faculty members of Adamas University's School of Education, led by Prof. (Dr.) Shauli Mukherjee, explored potential collaboration areas, including short-term internship opportunities for faculty members, scholars, and students.
An International Lecture Session held at the AU1 Auditorium shed light on Bhutan's educational scenario, particularly their emphasis on Gross National Happiness. Dr. Thinley and Dr. Sherab emphasized the importance of happiness and cultural heritage, followed by a cultural program showcasing India's rich diversity.
The visit concluded with the signing of the collaboration agreement between Adamas University and Paro College of Education, Royal University of Bhutan by Hon'ble Chancellor Prof.(Dr) Samit Ray, followed by a Leadership Meet chaired by Hon'ble Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Radha Tamal Goswami.
