The Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness, Adamas University, successfully organised the 1st International Seminar on Happiness & Well-Being, along with Rekhi HappiThon @ Adamas, on 16 January 2026 at the International Lounge, AU1. The day-long international academic event brought together scholars, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and students to engage in critical discussions on happiness, well-being, and holistic human development.

The seminar featured five distinguished keynote lectures by national and international experts, including speakers from Bhutan and premier Indian institutions, offering global perspectives on happiness through lenses of psychology, mental health, artificial intelligence, governance, education, culture, sustainability, and Gross National Happiness (GNH). The keynote sessions were complemented by three thematic technical sessions, where researchers and scholars presented high-quality papers addressing contemporary challenges and interdisciplinary approaches to happiness and well-being.

A key highlight of the event was Rekhi HappiThon @ Adamas, a vibrant student-centric innovation and performance showcase. Over 50 students from 18+ interdisciplinary teams presented innovative ideas, technological prototypes, artistic expressions, and social interventions aimed at promoting happiness and mental well-being. The HappiThon demonstrated the integration of science, technology, creativity, and experiential learning, reinforcing student engagement and innovation.

The seminar and HappiThon collectively reflected the Rekhi Centre’s vision of fostering interdisciplinary research, academic dialogue, and youth-led innovation in happiness studies. The event marked a significant milestone in advancing happiness research and cultivating a culture of well-being and collaboration at Adamas University.
