Industrial Guest Lecture cum Career Orientation Session held on 01-09-2026 (Organized by the dept. of EEE, SOET).

The Department of EEE, School of Engineering and Technology, Adamas University along with its IEEE Student Branch (STB15116), organized an Industrial Guest Lecture cum career orientation session on “From 5G Advanced to AI-Native 6G: Building Industry-Ready Networks, Skills and Solutions” dated 01-09-2026, between 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM. The valuable session was delivered by Sri. Indrajit Sanyal (Head of Service Delivery Unit Network Management, Business Unit Cloud Software & Services, Ericsson & Kolkata Location Head, Ericsson India Pvt Ltd.) on a humble invitation by the department. The enlightening technical lecture was attended by 68 students and faculty members. The lecture received overwhelming feedback on the clarity of delivery and value addition to the participants (especially through multiple live polls and intriguing discussion on 5G/6G).

Objectives:    

  1. Bridge up the industry-Academia Gap via industry interactions
  2. Understand 5G and 6G from an Industry point of view.
  3. Skill development for present and futuristic generations of Telecommunications.
  4. Beyond the classroom expose and networking opportunity for the participants.
  5. Internship and placement opportunities at Ericsson.

Outcome of the Event:

  1. The skill gap & understanding on 5G fundamentals and 6G gradually improved.
  2. Interactions between academia and industry (especially students exposed to industry requirements).
  3. 5G Standalone and 5G-Advanced are already powering industrial automation.
  4. Understanding of the Network slicing, edge computing, and mission-critical communications aspects of 5G communications.
  5. Need for standardizations in upcoming communication techniques and mobile generations (especially 6G communications).
  6. Understanding the AI-native networks, integrated sensing & communication, advanced spectrum sharing, and sustainable network design. The session combined the technical depth with real industry examples/case studies.
  7. Involvement of students and the IEEE students branch to nurture team building and leadership opportunities.
  8. Enhancing the industry reach of the organizing department (EEE) and the university at large.
  9. Career opportunities for the students in terms of internship and placement opportunities in the near future.
